Came here for dinner after hearing about it from my friend... Ordered sushi and tempura. Sushi smelled like stale fish and salmon sushi was brown. The tempura had a big dead Cockroach!! Yes Cockroach! I could not believe my eyes and was utterly disgusted. So I called the waitress and she would not believe me that the cockroach came in the dish! I sneaked in the kitchen after the incident to check out the condition. And as expected it was filthy, I saw 4-5 cockroaches running around on the kitchen floor and the place was a mess. I stumbled onto this place looking for a Sushi Craving FixThe signage is a little confusing as it actually next to a Chinese Restaurant.Joseph the owner greeted me with a huge smile as I walked in.He greets everyone like this and usually checks up on his customers if he has time.Everything I've had in my 6 visits in 6 months is fresh and very well put together.Very seldom to you get great service with great food.Lunch Specials are very large portions and always serve small appetizers complimentary If you are a Sushi Lover you should go out of your way to check this place out.Unfortunately I am disappointed when visiting other Sushi Restaurants now lol
I don't think I have had any better Sushi than here. My girlfriends and I dropped in for lunch. We had the Teriyaki lunch, the Pink Dragon Roll,the Sashimi Lunch box and the Chicken Teri Bento Lunch. They are large servings and everything is so fresh and delicious. The staff are friendly and helpful explaining the menu and Joseph the chef/owner usually comes over to new customers and offers complimentary ice cream. Highly recommend this place.
We discovering this place accidentally, and fell in love with it. Sushi is fresh, tasty and at reasonable price. Service is amazing. The waitress went above and beyond, Joseph - the chef, went by himself and brought tasty things to taste on house. This was first experience like this. All family, adult and kids enjoyed it. Saw the rave reviews for this place on TA, decided to take my wife. Pretty disappointed overall. The fish itself was ok, not particularly fresh as others had said. The menu itself was about average but overpriced - and there was no all you can eat option.Had it not been for the price I could rate this better. If your a fan of mediocre sushi then you may find it ok. My verdict - avoid
Like many of the best sushi places I have visited Sushi Wa is in a small unassuming location in a strip mall but the food and service is perfect,fresh and well priced. We have been multiple times and have never been disappointed. Chef Joseph had never failed to greet us afterwards and shows great pride in his work and it shows. Favourite sushi place around
We go here often for dinner. Their sushi is fresh with many different options of other dishes. I've had the beef teriyaki which was flavorful. Their salad dressing is really nice, and they always give a few pieces of sushi and a shot of soup for free as samples. Plus the owner tries really hard to remember your name, it's very sweet.
