We lucked in on this wonderful establishment, rolling on the I-285 heading towards Charlotte from Alabama. Coming from California, I am more than a little spoiled having eaten at Nobu Malibu and La locations , legendary Ricky Sushi before he shut down , and Oshima in Tustin countless times. So there is fine dining sushi, and sushi. And Yoko, blurs the line with its execution, quality, and ridiculously low prices. The menu is perhaps too extensive for its own good, so there will be items that don’t quite fit into this upper echelon of AMAZING dining, but I am sure there are those that love it just fine. An example is Beef Teriyaki, I’m sure most enjoy it, it’s just not stupendous like so many...

Sushi is typically expensive, but rarely worth it... until you try the sushi at this place. It is truly artisanal, with incredibly delicious flavors. The rice is perfectly seasoned and the fish is so fresh, it tastes like it came straight from the ocean. If the building matched the quality of the food, it would be a Michelin star restaurant in billionaire's row NY. However, the love and dedication put into creating this amazing sushi is reflected in its reasonable price. I will definitely be returning to this place whenever I can!
You know that hidden gem you're hoping to discover so you can show off your impressive taste? Well this is it! Don't be put off by the exterior and location, this is some top tier Japanese comfort food. The takoyaki (fried octopus balls) were rich, savory, and piping hot. The tonkatsu (breaded pork cutlet) was crisp on the outside and juicy inside. The venue itself has a very closed, diner sort of cozy feel. One warning is that their capacity was pretty reduced when I went, so be prepared for a longish wait to get a table.
This restaurant offers a variety of authentic Japanese dishes to choose from, including deep-fried, grilled, and marinated options. I had sushi sashimi with two appetizers, scallop tare and yellowtail. I found the cooked dishes to be more impressive than the sushi, as the fish was not particularly special. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant for those looking for an authentic Japanese dining experience at a reasonable price. Reserva una mesa ahora
The outside does not look like it has been updated, but upon entering the restaurant itself, the atmosphere feels comforting and relaxed. The employees were helpful and even provided recommendations. My only critique is that the two appetizers and later the two main dishes were brought out at different times. My guess is that it was all brought out as it was made. Overall, great experience and delicious food.
I absolutely loved this hidden gem! Be sure to arrive early to avoid the crowds. I had the plum rice ball, octopus balls, the chef's special assorted sushi platter, and the oyakodon gyudon for dinner. I highly recommend coming here for a date, especially since there is a lovely gift shop next door. The food was exceptional, I would give it a 5 out of 5 rating.
As other reviewers have mentioned, don't be deceived by the exterior of this restaurant. The food here is incredible. Despite being understaffed with only one chef during our visit, they limit the number of customers to maintain high-quality food and service. Although we had to wait 15-20 minutes, it was totally worth it. We will definitely return!
Having lived in Japan, I can confidently say that this restaurant is the real deal when it comes to authentic Japanese cuisine. The food was so delicious that I even forgot to take a picture. I would give it a perfect 5 out of 5 rating for the food. Reserva una mesa ahora
Most authentic Japanese food in the area. Prices are decent and quality is always consistent. Friendly service albeit a bit slow but that's everywhere these days. The rice bowls are excellent.
Awesome place to get lunch and pretty reasonable priced. Most entrees around $11 with soup and salad. The server was friendly. The curry here is so tasty. Also tiny grocery store on the side.
