Vist Oberammergau several times a year for work and always make I sure I come here, and as unimaginative as it seems, I always have the schnitzel - I just can't resist it. Perfect thin escalopes of pork in a breadcrumb which includes bacon bits, served on delicious buttery saute potatoes with onions - comes with a well dressed side salad too.You get 2 food size schnitzels per portion, which seems generous (though I've always managed to finish them off). Lady told us that at 8.30 kitchen was closing soon. She seemed annoyed that we didn't know which kind of beer we wanted (we just wanted a normal beer, nothing special). She couldn't advice us, we had to open the menu and tell her exactly which one we wanted. White Wine was served either in 0,1 l or 0,75 l volumes. However a red wine was served either in 0,2 l or 0,75 l..... who serves 0,1 l measures these days? the bottle of wine we ordered was plonked on the table and we weren't even asked to try it. Wolfgang and his family and staff run this place very efficiently. The greeting is warm and the beer just the right temperature. With the lovely scenery and excellent food on the menu what is not to like, actually nothing !!The local dishes are served as well as Bavarian takes on more continental food. If you are lucky enough to be staying then the breakfasts are a treat to behold with the fresh fruit salad, ham and cheese platters as well as cereal.This should set you up for a hike up the mountains, or a gentle stroll round the interesting shops.Lovely, clean, well presented and very tasty food. Worth visiting.

Friendly welcome, good menu, not too large (a good sign!). All the food was very good, and very tasty. - The veal was extremely tender and a delight. The schnitzel was excellent, tender and not greasy. The Asian turkey was also very good and nice to see for a change to the traditional Bavarian offering.Children are welcomed and well catered for .Service was exceptional, thoughtful but not overpowering.All the portions are large - so make sure you are really hungry when you visit!We will definitely be returning! Dinner with family and friends. Wanted schnitzel on this cold and rainy night. And I got it. Large portions. Accommodated one handicap and tow kids without a problem. Pleasant ambiance and reasonably priced. This is where I would want to be for Christmas - watching the snow fall through the many windows that view the town.

Wolfgang and team were outstanding hosts. Breakfast was very fresh as lunch and dinner were quite good with large portions. The Beer is fresh and appetizing.

This is a fun little restaurant with wonderful German food. Asparagus was in season so we had a great soup, wonderful sausage. It is not to noisy.

I stayed there for a week and was really impressed. Great food, excellent service. Absolutely first class!!!!! Loved every minute there.

I've had schnitzel all over Germany and some in Austria but this is by far the best. Friendly staff and great food. Would recommend
