I noticed a sign in the restaurant that reads "Peace in Guyana." Personally, I find this sign quite off-putting and think it sends a negative message to non-Guyanese visitors. As a Guyanese myself, I feel that Sybil's large advertising promotes the idea that it's the best (which it likely is), but the sign seems disrespectful to our culture. I believe more consideration should have been given before it was displayed. That said, I have to admit that I love the food and the staff is fantastic, so I will definitely keep coming back!
At this point I am so disappointed and disgusted by this place. 05/17/2023 went to purchase a few items. bought an egg and ask for mango sour the sales girl said they don’t have they have tamarind sour. Came back to the office just to find the tamarind sour to be spoiled along with a HAIR inside, I am so disgusted and mind you I am seven months pregnant and to think of what could have happened and how sick I could have gotten if I had only eat this. Sybil you guys need to do better.
Good place with the potential to be great. While they are busy, it seems like little things can be done to make it more efficient and make the customer experience a lot better. One recommendation, especially when the customer is ordering multiple items as we did, is to recap the order with the customer. We left without one item that was ordered, but we weren't charged either. Line-ups are long but I think it can be a much better experience.
Talk about curry? Yea this is the place!! Great authentic Guyanese cuisine. Great portions, and if you don’t like spice then don’t go, the curry will explode them taste buds. The more you eat the more you feel it, I went around 7-8pm there was a wait. My number was 21 and they were only on 12 which is expected with great food. Would definitely go again. Can’t forget GREAT FRIENDLY SERVICE.

I got the curry chicken and all I can say is WHEW! When I tell you, it was spicy, it was spicy! I wasn’t expecting it to be so spicy but it was. It was still delicious, nonetheless. I also got a Guyanese beef patty, plain roti, and dhal puri, everything was delicious. Will definitely be going back and trying something else.
This restaurant is fantastic! I had a craving for pepper pot and peanut punch, and this place never lets me down. Now I can't wait to go back for more. The service is excellent, the food is delicious, and the prices are reasonable. There’s plenty of parking nearby. It’s definitely a top choice for Guyanese favorites!
Jerk Chicken wasn't in the same container on top the rice and the amount of Jerk Chicken given was small compared to the extra large portion of white rice of which I actually ordered beans (peas) rice. But the Jerk had a good flavor and nice spice to it.
For a real taste of NY and Queens, Gayanese delicasese will do the trick. They have all the sweets and savories to fulfill an open pallette. I come here every time. Great cultural experience.

Two stars because one of the two egg balls I ordered had maybe a pinch of cassava in it! Mostly flour but at least a whole egg. Will be going to Singh’s for my egg balls next time.
The food was excellent. Although it was a bit pricey, it was definitely worth it. I would return if I'm in the area again.
