We had made a reservation for 7.30pm on a Saturday, weeks in advance, for a birthday celebration. Although we had enjoyed the food on previous visits, our friends had not been before so we recommended the restaurant to them. Unfortunately, the special weekend main course was already sold out, which was disappointing. Things went downhill from there - we had to wait until around 9pm to receive our food, despite ordering at around 8pm. It seemed that a party upstairs was getting more attention from the staff. We've just had such a lovely, lovely evening at Syrtaki! The food was exceptional. Ohhhhh the King Prawn Saganaki was ridiculously goooood! And the cold dips! We tried the aubergine one, the Tarama and some kind of beautiful whipped feta. Beautiful! Even the pitta bread was amazing. Thank you to the lovely lady serving us! The whole experience was just super homely, friendly and fun. I honestly think it's the best experience I've had in a restaurant in Southend. Thank you!!! We will be back soon!
Our experience at the restaurant was amazing thanks to the company we were with. The waiter was friendly, but the service was very slow due to a party happening upstairs. We arrived at 9 pm and didn't leave until after 11 pm. We ordered the Meze and were underwhelmed by the quality of some dishes and the overall quantity of the meal. As a Greek person, I have high expectations for good mezethes, and this fell short. The price was reasonable, but I have had better meals elsewhere.
This is an amazing, hidden restaurant in Westcliff! I recently visited with some friends and decided to come back with family for my partners birthday and once again, we weren’t disappointed! Such lovely and friendly service, Haroulla was our waitress and she was very welcoming and polite. I would defo recommend this restaurant to anyone for any occasion. We all had a meat meze this time and it was amazing to try everything. Once again i’m left impressed, keep it up Syrtaki!!!

I arrived at the restaurant for a pre-booked table on Monday, only to find the doors locked, tables removed, and 2 people in the back clearing out the kitchen. I tried calling the same number I used to book the reservation to see if they were possibly renovating and we should have been upstairs, but the phone was not connected. This was quite disappointing as the restaurant had been recommended to us, so we had booked it as part of our trip to the area.
Just had a wonderful lunch at this lovely restaurant. The atmosphere was nice, Greek music, images of Greece. The waitress was kind and helpful. We ordered many things from the menu and I loved the bugiourti, kaserocrocketes, the most tasty fries and chicken souvlaki. The prices are reasonable and the portions full. I am coming back, any time I am in Southend on sea I will be having my food here after beach : summer it's coming this will be my place!
What a wonderful Mother’s Day meal, went with the family to our favourite authentic Greek restaurant, they had a set menu with all my favourite dishes. The waiter Thomas was as always fantastic, a young boy with so much spirit and enthusiasm . Thank you again syrtaki
What a great place , we had the most fantastic meal here , great atmosphere food was amazing, and the staff were brilliant, good selections of food and wine . All reasonable priced. Will definitely be back

Superb customer service. It’s a restaurant we visit infrequently through the year but it’s always superb. Beautifully prepared fresh fish and everything homemade. Always impressed.
