The hot and sour soup was good, although I prefer it a bit thicker and with slightly different seasoning; Woody's Wings and Things in Westminster, CO is my gold standard! That said, it was a generous portion. The Sauteed Beef Homemade Style was also tasty and well-portioned, nicely seasoned with a bit of heat, which I expect can be adjusted to taste. It's listed under their house special menu, and the serving of white rice was provided in a separate container.
I plan to return and try more items from the house special menu to see if I can give this place a five-star rating. Finding flavorful foods outside of white bread options can be a challenge here in Kansas. Thank you!
I never expected to find such an amazing seafood restaurant in Kansas. As a truck driver, I've been on the road for a week, and the food I've had during this time has been pretty disappointing. Every day was a struggle, until I discovered this place. I'm usually not a fan of boil bags, but this restaurant completely changed my perspective. The food was outstanding and truly delicious. A huge shout-out to the chef for the fantastic meal. If I'm ever within 50 miles, I'll definitely be stopping by again. I’ll even call my wife to let her know I’ll be late because I can’t resist returning here. It was seriously that good!
Szechuan House consistently delivers outstanding service! In a city filled with amazing Asian restaurants, I believe I've found the one I'll keep coming back to. I appreciate that they offer both Americanized and traditional dishes. The seafood boil is one of the best I've ever tasted, and it’s certainly the top choice in Lawrence. The owners, who I assume are the ones always present, are some of the most genuine and hardworking people I’ve ever met. I will continue to support this establishment because they provide high-quality food and an extensive menu, making it impossible to try everything in just a few visits.
I can't comment on the negative reviews, but my friend and I had a great experience. We enjoyed the scallion pancakes, Hunan chicken, and dry braised beef hot pot. The sliced pork with garlic appetizer was decent, and it paired well with the pancakes. We were surprised that it was served cold and on top of what looked like imitation crab meat. The service was good for us, although our waitress did need to check back a couple of times to confirm our order for the chicken. I'm definitely open to returning for another visit.

We’ve tried the cajun seafood boil multiple times and the Szechuan food, both are amazing! Always fresh, hot and flavorful. They’re very kind too, and the drive through is super convenient. Their Szechuan dan dan noodles are the best!
Last night I had seafood from Szechuan House Cajun Seafood and this had to be the best seafood I’ve had in a long. 10/10 Seafood Must comeback
The combination fried rice I ordered was fantastic; all the flavors came together beautifully and the seasoning was excellent.
