Update on 09/26/22: During my recent visit, I was shocked by the extremely rude behavior of a staff member. When I greeted him and asked how he was doing, he responded by saying he didn’t have time for my “ignorance.” This response was completely uncalled for, especially as I was simply being polite, and there were other customers waiting behind me. He mentioned there were only two employees working and seemed overwhelmed, but that’s no excuse for treating customers disrespectfully. Taco Heaven is truly a hidden treasure! I've walked past this little eatery for years and now I wish I had stopped in much earlier. The tacos are absolutely amazing—whether you choose beef, chicken, steak, or shrimp, they never disappoint. I've even visited three times in just one week! The chili dog is also noteworthy. Don’t miss out on the Richard Pryor drink; it’s a delightful blend of fruit punch and lemonade that you have to try! They only offer outdoor seating, but it’s definitely worth it. There's usually a line, which is a great indicator of its popularity. It's telling when you see people parking at the Taco Bell next door just to eat here!
I just moved to the area and was on my way home, looking for something to eat. I was about to go to Taco Bell when I noticed Taco Pete across the street and decided to give it a try instead. I ordered the taco salad and beef quesadilla, and they were absolutely amazing. Everything was fresh and perfectly seasoned. I don’t usually leave reviews, but this is easily the best Mexican food in Atlanta and some of the best I’ve ever had. It’s that good—like West Coast level good!
I ordered takeout (though you can also dine at a picnic table), and the food was quite good, especially the tacos. However, I had to wait 35 minutes for my order at 2:30 PM. The music was pretty loud, and the two layers of bulletproof glass made it challenging to place my order. While it’s an improvement over chain restaurants, I would suggest steering clear if you're in a hurry.

I don't know what the previous reviewer encountered, but we absolutely loved Taco Pete! The steak soft tacos were fantastic, and we ordered four tacos, a burrito, a chicken quesadilla, and a side of guacamole for just $23! The food was excellent, and it was a great value. We'll definitely be returning frequently!
I have to say, that steak taco salad was fantastic! My wife is quite picky when it comes to tacos—they need to be authentic. Honestly, I should have ordered her a fourth taco because they were just that good. And on top of that, it's a black-owned business!
A family run business run by a family who really like their customers and want to serve hem the best fastfood they can. A great place. The turkey burgers are great. French fries are wonderful.
The nachos were very satisfying, and I chose to add extra beef without any beans. There was definitely plenty for one serving, but it was completely worth the price.

Tried the soft steak taco- excellent! Also had a cheeseburger which was good but not outstanding, though very well constructed. Combo came with a ton of fries.
This is a great place to go for a quick lunch! I love love the hard shell chicken tacos!! The staff is always nice and its CLEAN!!!
