So we have been coming up to Perry Sound for a few years because our cottage is about an hour away. The lakefront is always beautiful to visit and we always saw a line out the door for this restaurant all the time. This year we got lucky and there was no line. Everyone told us this is a great place to eat if we can get in. When we got there the place looked nice but it was just simple construction nothing fancy but nothing ugly either. Taking a look at the reviews it is evident this is a recurring issue with this restaurant.Last week my colleagues and I went for dinner there (our mistake). The waiting time was ridiculous, I ordered the soup of the day and after a 35 minute wait for soup!!! I asked my server what was the hold up as 35 minutes for soup was unacceptable she was very snarky and seemed annoyed i was even bringing it up. When I asked her how much longer we had to wait, she answered she didn’t know and couldn’t provide a time frame. The food was excellent, but the prices feel a bit steep considering the portion sizes and overall value. Unfortunately, we experienced a long wait—over an hour for our food, which detracted from our enjoyment. However, the views were breathtaking! We watched float planes take off and land right from the deck, which is situated right on the water. I can only imagine how beautiful the sunsets must be! I understand staffing can be challenging, but I genuinely believe that if they hired more staff, Tailwinds could easily become a five-star patio. Given the cost of a meal for four, I don’t think that bringing on additional employees would pose a problem.

We truly want to love this restaurant. It's locally owned, has fantastic views, and offers a family-friendly atmosphere. However, we waited 25 minutes for a table and then another 1.5 hours for our food, which included wings, burgers, and chicken fingers for the kids. It just wasn't worth the wait. My boyfriend and I stopped in for a bite to eat. The host was pleasant and seated us. She gave us menus and said a server would be with us shortly. After 15 minutes the host noticed we still hadn’t been served. She left and after another 5 minutes and seeing other people get seated and served we decided to leave. It was steady but not full and no shortage of staff. Sorry but I can’t give a good review based on this experience.

We were referred to Tailwinds by local realtor Geoff Hayes, and he was absolutely right. We opted for a patio table and enjoyed stunning views of the marina, a seaplane landing, and a train crossing the trestle bridge. Our server, a vibrant young woman named Jessica, was incredibly attentive and on top of everything. The service was excellent, and the food was delicious and packed with flavor. It's a great value all around.

I always enjoy my meal, and the staff are amazing! Everything is delicious, but I highly recommend garlic bacon cheese bread, as well as lasagna soup. This visit we enjoyed the breakfast bacon blt wrap. You can often see a plane takeoff or land, and they are located on the water. Thank you, we will see you again soon!Food: 5/5

Four of us stopped by for dinner on September 1/23 by boat. Docked right out front and got a table on the patio. The waterfront location is fantastic, the service and food were great. We just had the best service in a long time. We had to wait a while for a table. Long weekend. Short staffed in kitchen. The food was great and Stephanie was super awesome. She even stirred my drink twice to the left and once to the right! We’ll be back!Food: 5/5

We've come here 2 summers in a row with friends. Each time the food was delicious with generous portions. There's something for everyone. The service is prompt and friendly. A great spot in Parry Sound!
