An absolute honest review... When we arrived at 8.40 pm there was no one in the restaurant. As we entered the waiter could be heard complaining 'I hope that they know we shut at 10.30 '. After initially requesting drinks, it took 3 attempts before this was acknowledged. We asked for 14 poppadoms between 7 of us, and the chutney trays that they brought out were virtually empty. They served 2 of our group. Whilst still eating our chutneys the waiter started leaning over members of our party whilst still on appetisers. No 'excuse me ', no 'thank you '... We were craving Indian food and had already tried another restaurant in town, so we decided to give this one a chance. The food was good, and the naan was particularly delicious. However, the atmosphere could use some improvement, as the place looks a bit worn and needs some TLC. The service was decent, though it could have been quicker when it came to bringing the bill. Overall, I would rate the food a 3, the service a 3, and the atmosphere a 2.

Been using the Taj Mahal for years, but was in 2 minds after reading all the bad reviews. Sadly they were generally right. Ordered a take out in person. Told when picking it up that they had run out of onion bhajis. Then found that they had forgotten the rice, the tarka daal was like green water, and generally everything was just a bit disappointing. Sad to say after all these years that we won’t be back.

This restaurant is fantastic! The menu is extensive, featuring all the classic Indian dishes along with some incredible cooking specialties. The ambiance is beautiful, and the prices are very reasonable. This has been the best Indian dining experience I've had in a long time. The curries were very good but the pakora starters didn’t come till after the curries and one was inedible! Despite pointing this out we were still billed for it. It was only after confrontation with management that the bill was reduced by half the cost of the inedible starter. We won’t be back due to VERY poor customer service. We 3 people have some food before and arrive at around 9. We order two dishes, naan and rice. The waiter is disconnected for ordering not enough. We order 1 bottle of beer, come out for 3.And food is small. Charge us GBP45 for 3 people. That’s terrible experience Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £10–20

Four of us dined there last night and ordered the prawn dish, number 30. We all agreed it was the best Indian restaurant we've ever been to. The food was absolutely amazing and very reasonably priced. The chef is exceptional. Thank you for a wonderful experience! Highly recommended. Service: Dine-in Meal type: Dinner

Staff was rude and collected the dishes before we were done with food, they asked 3x times for cash for no reason and “challenged” some of the group members to force-finish their drinks.
