Tajima Ramen (college Heights)

I had the most incredible experience at Tajima Ramen College Heights!!! Every dish we tried was absolutely amazing, and both my wife and I couldn't get enough of the delightful pineapple cider/ale, whichever ever one it is it’s DELICIOUS... While savoring the flavors, we had the pleasure of engaging in a wonderful conversation with a lovely young woman and her handsome son seated next to us. Food was excellent! It was very busy but we were seated quickly. We all had ramen. 2 had the carnita ramen and 2 the Tajima ramen with pork. So good. The carnita was spicy without being overpowering. The pork in the Tajima ramen was a nice size thick piece and was so tender and flavorful. The broth in both was really good also. They take your order before seating you. They were very helpful with suggestions which we appreciated being relatively new to different types of ramen. We will definitely be back. A hidden gem in East County for genuine, made-from-scratch ramen. So far, my favorites are the classic Tajima (tonkotsu) and the spicy sesame ramen. While the karaage might not be as juicy as what you’d find at Raki Raki, all the other appetizers are simply excellent. I haven't tried the other ramen dishes and rice bowls yet, but I'm looking forward to giving them a shot.

I visited for lunch on Monday at 11:30 AM, right when they opened. I was the very first customer and the first to place my order, yet I ended up waiting an hour for my ramen—after the fourth person had been served! Ordered the Tajima Ramen and Carnitas Taco. The taco was nothing special and quite small; not worth the price. The pork chashu was not very tender. The broth was okay but lacled depth. The noodles were mediocre and soft. For the price, I'd go somewhere else.

The Spicy Sesame Ramen and BOOCHCRAFT Grapefruit+Hibiscus were both fantastic. Everything was prepared on time, and the staff was friendly.

Vegan ramen is one of my favorites! It's perfectly delicious and spicy. Be sure to add the red bomb sauce; you can't go wrong with that!

It took nearly 45 minutes for us to receive the tuna bowl, and unfortunately, the tuna was not fresh at all.

Man, Tajima on Convoy is better sadly. But this place is pretty good. Vegan ramen is like a 6/10.
