Taperia De La Pena

I love Paella. I am a pretty decent cook myself, and I make it at home; I eat it every time I visit Spain and the Islands. Sometimes it is awesome, sometimes it is ok. The seafood paella I had here was inedible because it was ridiculously salty; I don't mean just a little bit salty, it was like nothing I have tasted before. I simply could not (and did not want to) eat it. I pointed this out to the surly and unwelcoming waiter. He took the dish away and nothing else was forthcoming; no offer of another choice from the menu, no offer to strike it from my bill. I was not in the mood for a row; I entered the restaurant in good spirits. I asked for my bill and left. I can only conclude that the waiter here is a smoker whose habit has cause him to lose all of his taste buds. I am astonished that this dish was allowed out of the kitchen.

We have dined here several times and have always received a similar excellent experience. The food is of a great standard, well presented, good quality and moderately priced. Whilst the staffing is small the service is fantastic, never obtrusive but always on point with every need met before you need ask. Overall one of best dining experiences on Las Canteras.

We always go there during our visit to Las Palmas. The food is excellent and they have really good wines. For starters we had gambas and gulas, wow! For the main my husband had solomillo Taperia and I had salmon. Both very good. The service is professional.

We eat there twice a week at the moment or sometimes just pop in for a drink. The staff are wonderful, the food is very good reasonably priced . The drinks are cheap. Garlic prawns highly recommended.

Came here by accident but realy enjoyed the food and the atmosphere from the restaurant. Not a large selection but what is offered is great! Love the selection of wines. Definitely to recommend.
