We were hot and tired when we discovered this nicely decorated restaurant bar tucked near the Monastery of Jesus. We immediately felt like walking in and having a drink. Then, the helpful young red haired manager showed us the lunch menu, with two options. We chose to eat there and food service atmosphere were above expectations. We had a tasty fish soup with garlic bread as entree, then we tried the fig pizza and the bacalhau. We were offered two extra plates for sharing. The all menu including dessert and drinks for 8 euros/pers. Then we asked for directions to Sesimbra and he helped us too. We choose 4 different traditional tapas to share for 3 persons. The aim was to avoid french fries and to be able to taste new flavours. We chose the tapas according to the recommendations. Each and every one was perfect and served in well planned order:from the most natural taste to the most intensive taste. The incredients, outlooks of the dishes and service all perfect. This one can I recommend for a nice and cozy evening. The dessert of the house, creamy and sweet pudding was delicious as well. Tasty local muscadel for happy end : . Fomos ao tasco do kaneco jantar entre amigos e família num dia de fados (domingo).Decoração rustica e espaço bastante acolhedor.Staff simpático. Pedimos queijos, presunto, azeitonas, camaroes fritos, alheiras, camaroes panados com molho de cooktail e escalopes. Comida saborosa.A conjugação de jantar e ouvir fado é bastante simpático e tranquilizante.Aconselho!!

O local é já emblematico, apesar de ter passado por 'algumas ' gerências (umas mais dinâmicas outras menos) tem sido sempre um espaço singular e muito aprazível que fica fora dos trilhos mais batidos. <br/ <br/ Esta última 'versão ' apresenta uma cozinha simples mas cidade, bem saborosa como pude atestar quando lá fui jantar com os amigos.<br/ <br/ Recomendado Reserva una mesa ahora

Interesting somewhat surreal place with a fascinating owner. Great music. Sometimes live bands. Maybe a Fado night. Very recommended. Great open fireplace for cold winter nights. Cocktails including wonderful Caiparinho and good whisky selection. Also Petiscos.

Exellent food, exellent service, exellent prices! For those who do not speak Portuguese, the waiter will explain every tapas in detail with best recommendations! Nice smoothies also.

It's the best restaurant in the city. Great place, very friendly staff and customers. And the food is amazing. All the traditional foods but really lighter. The place to be.

Management changed and they don't serve food anymore : Ambiance is good though, nice drinks and young people keeping the place busy until late.
