T Adelia is right in the heart of old Vila Nova da Barquinha, just a quick walk from the beautiful sculpture park by the river. Now--if you really want a true Portuguese experience, have lunch here! The place is very small, and usually packed with regulars from the community, but they almost always can find a table for you. Be warned that no-one on staff speaks a lot of English, but not to worry. Good food transcends language. There are usually one or two lunch specials, and almost everyone has them (the kitchen is tiny). The food, in our experience, has always been excellent, in the traditional Portuguese style. I cannot understand the poor Portuguese reviews, unless these people are expecting Michelin standard food at really low prices! We had lunch for 7€ each including bread/olives/wine/meat meal/sweet/coffee. We had tender beef slices with onions and 2 pork kebabs, both meals with chips and salad. The cafe was busy but the waitress was friendly and helpful and the waiter was doing the coffees. We are retired here so not in a rush. The evening menu was different and dearer but we were only there for one day. We live an hour away and would return to eat here sometime. Not sure if English is spoken as the girl understood my basic Portuguese!

Spa com uma decoração acolhedora, com serviço atencioso e muito bem localizado (juntamente com o parque de Barquinha). Os preços são convidativos, uma dose é mais do que suficiente para duas pessoas. O engano estava na comida, serviu-nos um bife de espargos, o bife foi frito e tinha passado bastante do ponto, o bife foi queimado! A guarnição, o arroz, não parecia ser do dia e estava com um gosto muito forte para a margarina. Leva as três estrelas através do espaço, o preço reduzido e a simpatia da equipe, se eu me restringisse exclusivamente à comida, eu teria tomado uma estrela.

Estávamos de passagem e sem jantar. Espaço pitoresco e acolhedor. Comemos fataça com açorda que estava muito bem confeccionada e uma dose dá perfeitamente para pessoas. Não tivemos queixa mas acredito que nos dias mais movimentados o serviço perca qualidade. Foi uma boa opção. Reserva una mesa ahora

Took ages to be served on a not too busy Saturday. A half-hour wait is reasonable, one hour too much, 90 minutes (our experience) excessive, however good the food may be. And just a shrug of the shoulders at the end. A pity!

Restaurante típico de cozinha portuguesa. Como a proprietária é a única cozinheira e tudo é feito no momento, recomendo ir cedo. Espaço interior muito bonito e tradicional, staff simpático. Excelentes bifes e fataça.

We eat a delicious steak with very tasty grilled vegetables, very homemade style. Great value for money, in a cozy atmosphere and full of trinkets from the past hanging from the ceiling.
