Unfortunately, my experience at Tastee Diner was pretty subpar. I love that this place is still thriving after all these years—it’s important to support local businesses with rich histories—but the food was just not the best.I got the waffle with over easy eggs and bacon, as well as a side of grits. The waffle was average and I didn’t like their artificial syrup (6/10). The bacon (8/10) and grits were pretty normal, though I needed a lot of salt for the grits (6/10). Finally, the eggs: the whites weren’t fully cooked! When I took a bite, I got a film of raw egg white. I like my eggs over easy, but these were just a raw and unpleasant experience (2/10).The atmosphere is lived in and exciting,...

It is a Maryland institution. The food were freshly and tasty prepared. With nothing fancy and no exotic ingredients, the simple dinner meals just quell the hunger with nostalgic traditional food that nowhere could be found in a high-rent district like Bethesda. The services were efficient, friendly, and caring. The prices are unbelievably reasonable. The portions are huge. It is not a place for a dieter. I absolutely love this good old place.
