Our visit did not start well having arrived at exactly our booking time, were asked for name etc.. and then promptly ignored for 15 20 minutes by every single member of staff. Usually if a table is not ready you might be prompted to take a seat at the bar for a drink to relax but being left in limbo, by the front door, with no communication is not very nice. We had a very warm welcome when some of our party arrived 15 minutes early due to the inclement weather, which was lovely. The lady was extremely friendly and there were no other occupied tables at that time. Having ordered drinks, we had to explain several times that we were waiting for the last person to arrive before ordering our food .... they arrived exactly at the booked time. A mixed review because of a mixed experience. Very convenient for Harold Pinter Theatre and one of us was a la carte while the other was on Pre-Theatre menu. Aware we were going to the Theatre, it took a very long time just to receive garlic bread, and when it did, it was burned. My friend had to cut the blackened crust off as there was no time to send back and wait again. The item was not removed from the bill. My friend had the a la carte fish of the day but firstly there was confusion amongst the staff as to what it was and secondly it was rather average. We spent a very nice Sunday lunch at this lovely Sicilian restaurant! The food was brilliantly executed, respectful of the true Sicilian culinary tradition! I am Sicilian myself and often feel homesick, so I was happy to find a place where I could feel like home and find all the flavours of my childhood! The service was very good and attentive, the portions very generous just like you would expect from a Sicilian restaurant, thank God! We had caponata and arancini, crocchette and panelle as a starter and pastas as a main. It was all so good, but we were already so full up that we couldn’t make it to the dessert! Good food and excellent friendly service. Provides some more interesting than your standard Italian fare. Good value considering the central location and compared with a lot of the tourist trap restaurants which surround it.
Lovely restaurant and perfect for pre-theatre dinner. Friendly and welcoming staff. Interesting and varied menu and wines . All delicious.
Got the pre theater 2 course meal. Food was delicious and we got done with plenty of time to make the theater.
Really excellent food and drinks at this unpretentious little restaurant.
