Taverne On The Square

After a few years of not going back in, my daughter and I decided to give it another shot tonight. The hostess was very friendly, the waitress was honest and pleasant, but the lack of self awareness by the other staff killed the 3 star vibes I was feeling. The food was okay nothing too exciting, but what stood out the most was towards the end of our meal, we could hear the owner/manager complaining about this and that which really tells me a lot about the integrity of the place. Meh. Unremarkable food. Nothing was bad.... just bland. I had nachos which were about the same quality I could make at home after a $10 trip to Shaw's, and a salad that tasted like it was a bagged mix. My date's chicken dish was okay, they said it just lacked any real spice or flavor. The mimosas we got were so over-sweetened they hurt my tongue. With a little work this place could be good, as nothing was bad and the service was excellent. But for now, just not worth spending a night out for.

We tried this place twice since we moved to thw area. We personally have tried to eat throughout the entire menu eventually. The food is good, wait staff is attentive and the old time tavern feel is a nice change in ambiance. We had the ragoon dip, nachos, and egg rolls and loved it.

Have somehow never stopped by, and I'm so glad I did! Staff was super friendly and welcoming, service was exceptional, beer was ice cold, and the food was reasonably priced and delicious. We will definitely add this spot to our rotation! Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner

Nice find in downtown Claremont. It's located as a bar grill but has an atmosphere of a nice restaurant. Nice food choices. Great prices. The food is well made and tasty. And the limonicello cake take out was great.

Food was great. We had fish and chips and capris salad with chicken. Everything was cooked great. Service was very good, friendly staff. The place is really nice for downtown Claremont. Will definitely go back.

1st time visitor. Food, service and atmosphere all very nice. The French onion soup was good. Entrees included brisket, Cobb salad and pasta Alfredo. Definitely try the Grinch cocktail.

10/10 would recommend the crab rangoon dip. They do have yummy drinks. Sometimes service isn't the best but you'll find that everywhere.

Great food, great service. We eat at the Tavern every Friday night. Never had a bad meal. Always take company here.
