Taverne zum Adler - Reserva de mesa

I had dinner there after visiting the picturesque city of Laufenburg. Restaurant is centrally located in the old town main square - a 15-minute walk from both Swiss (Laufenburg) and German (Laufenburg/Baden) railway stations. Warm welcome and friendly service by the hostess, while her husband ran the kitchen. Restaurant room is small but very nicely decorated. Lavatories spotlessly clean.No set price menus so I ordered à-la-carte. The menu offers usual Italian food as well as Swiss traditional dishes. Starter was corn salad with croutons and bacon: large portion, well-seasoned. Main course was Cordon Bleu Arrabiata i.e. filled with bacon, garlic, tomatoes, mozzarella, peperoni: tasty and not...

After an afternoon stroll through both Laufenburg editions - the town on the Swiss side as well as the town on the German side, we stopped at this restaurant for an hour to relax and imbibe something cool. The restaurant has outdoors seatiing right beside the fountain and this section was well used on this very hot day in early June. We had 2 Appenzeller beers and 2 "Flauder", described as a refreshing sommer drink with Elderberries and Melisse - it had a pleasant taste like that of a weak lemonade. Service was friendly and we noticed in the adverts that they offer a "knight-themed" dinner of the Middle Ages in their vaulted cellar - maybe we will avail ourselves thereof on another occasion.

You can expect a wide selection of Italian cuisine, Pizza and pasta. There is always a seasonal offering as well.The food is prepared fresh, the salad is wonderfull. Whatever you cannot find on the menu, ask for it. I never got a "No".The service is excellent, very friendly and professional. Try the Pasta Taverne Adler. It is very delicious.The Medivial Dinners are a good fun for small groups. I can recommend them as well.

Située à deux pas du Rhin et du pont reliant les 2 rives, la taverne zum Adler dispose d'une agréable et grande terrasse et on peut savourer de très bonnes asperges fraiches, préparées de différentes sortes.

We were staying on the German side of the river and walked over the bridge to the Swiss side and found this great little restaurant. Service was great and the pizza very nice. Highly recommended.
