16 Nov 2016, revision almost a year later: Tawara still has great food but we stopped going because of the slow and incompetent service. Be prepared to get water and green tea in 20 minutes, be asked for your order in about 40 minutes and begin to eat in a little under an hour. If you have plenty of time, no problem!!1 December 2015 - Can't wait to go back!. Tawara on the North Shore is a breath of fresh air if you're after a little more than what the run-of-the-mill, often not-very-clean sushi joints offer. The service is fast, friendly and the food is amazing. Be prepared to have a tough time picking what you will have as they have lots of delicious items you can't find in the average sushi restaurants. Be sure to give their Isobe-age (lightly fried tuna and salmon, wrapped in nori, served on a bed of delicious sauce) a try. Mmmm-mm!

All across Canada we heard people talking about Vancouver sushi. Well, me and my wife are from Sao Paulo -Brazil, which means we usually have sushi every other week since the largest community of Japanese people outside Japan is here. All right, The blue fish sushi was very good, the rolls servings was generous and tasted as traditional. The price was expected, but still expensive for a regular mid-week dinner. There was a family of four seated next to us, and a couple on the other side, so perfect to any size family.there were seats outside and if the weather were a little warmer we would have gone to that.

Disappointing Still slightly frozen sashimiQuality of the fish seemed good but I don't like to feel like I'm having a sushi popsicle.

I had wanted to try Tawara since it opened, after seeing so many glowing reviews and interesting items on the menu.
