Came here with my sister for my bday dinner. We were hoping to get some good omakase experience like we had in Japan and it doesn't dissapoint. The place is really nice, service was excellent. We ordered the 10 course Tempura Sashimi Omakase. Just because we thought we will be super full if we had the sushi course as well.Overall all the dishes are very nice. The tempuras are so good, not greasy at all. You'll get a choice of two dipping sauces.Be patient when eating the tempura, as they're all freshly fried, they are piping hot.I burnt my tongue during the first few tempura, so I can't taste the last half of the tempura course properly. For some reason I like the vegetable ones better, but th...

This is the first time we have tried this place, on the recommendation of a friend who has been there many times in the past. Reading The Age Good Food Guide, although the food is given high marks, it is described as a “foodie nerd shrine”, in a rather disparaging way, and it doesn’t score overly well on Zomato either. However we found it excellent.Lovely little bites at the start then small but excellent sashimi . And then the tempuras come, allowing you a chance to savour each one before the next arrives. I’ve only eaten a small amount of tempura before but this could only be described as the best. Then came the sushi, prepared in an expert way by the chef. The meal was complimented by two...

It's like being invited to someone's home and you sit around the breakfast/Kitchen bar. Very homely. But that's where the similarity ends. The food is a joy to behold. Colourful and attractively presented. The tempura is all that you imagined a good piece of tempura batter to be; light and crisp; not soggy as in some places. The oil is obviously the right temperature and of high quality. The beer is cold. The extra chilli [if required] is as called. The Chef is on hand to discuss his culinary creations. The fish is beautifully presented and flavoursome. The rice is balanced well with the vinegar, and cooked to correct texture. The service is polite, knowledgeable, and respectful of your priv...

The restaurant is small and cozy and seats about 12 people. Each tempura dish is beautifully and carefully created. The chef literally makes the tempura making an art and it's such a joy to watch because you can feel the pride this person has in his food. This was our second time there and it was such a pleasure. Definitely suits special dates and anniversaries! The food is also very reasonably priced. Reserva una mesa ahora

Working in Dorcas Street, this is a favourite venue when 3 or 4 of us want to have a special lunch. It is a small restaurant so booking is essential, but the food and service are both excellent. Personal favourite is the bento box. The tempura is always deliciously crisp and all the food is fresh and tasty. My Japanese friends regard it as one of the best Japanese restaurants in Melbourne.

We had the tempura and sushi omakase. The tempura was divine - crispy on the outside, succulent in the inside and not too oily. The sashimi was nice and fresh too. Service was impeccable and the ambience was nice. It is only a 12 seater restaurant though, so you'll have to book in advance. Prices were affordable too and there's free street parking closeby. Highly recommended!!!

Superb fresh sushi and tempura. Chef prepares in front of you. Typical gracious Japanese service. Set menu 2 choices. Not inexpensive but worth it. Later in evening when some guests left, had interesting conversation with chef. Only 12 places around cooking area. Reserva una mesa ahora
