I used to give this restaurant a great review because I used to eat here often. However, I got takeout with a coworker yesterday and the tempura chicken I ordered seemed slimy inside. I kept poking it, thinking it was undercooked. After eating it, I spoke to my coworker who had thrown out his chicken teriyaki because it tasted unwashed. The chicken seemed to have gone bad and was not rinsed properly. It was the only thing I ate that day, as I usually only eat one meal a day. what a waste of money, time and gas I ordered steak and garnel teriyaki with fried rice and an order of spring rolls, for $40 it was not worth that the steak was salty and the 3 medium-sized garnels were dry and let us not forget to mention, I asked for fried rice and got white sticky rice. the early roll were oily and without walling inside contain a little cauliflower with frozen green peas and maize, this place was a certain disappointment. if you ever have in manhattan at 38 st on the west side between 7 and 8 there is a whole in the wall teriyaki spot it is always on point big prices and eating is good. this place gets a big fat zero!
Pros: The food is very good. I ordered the Teriyaki chicken for myself for $10.95 and the Teriyaki chicken and shrimp combo for $13.95 for my husband.Cons: Neither one of our orders contained a lot of food. I’m not a greedy person but for the amount of money we spent per order we should have received way more food. For example, when we order from other places such as Chinese food or Hispanic food their prices are way cheaper and they give us an enormous amount of food that usually results in leftovers. Not Teriyaki Express. They need to do better
I recently moved into the opposite and decided to try this place, in the luck I did that eating is delicious. I have been here several times, they are consistently the chicken, salmon and bark was great, portion sizes were exactly right and I thought the prices were fair. the owner is very friendly and welcoming also will definitely visit again soon

Awesome place to have something when in a hurry. Their customer service is prompt, rates are convenient, fantastic ambience. I highly recommend this spot.
Consistently great for many years, have been coming here for at least a decade. I love the chicken teriyaki so much and the sushi rolls are always good.
