Terrace - Reserva de mesa

Just had lunch at the Terrace today with some good friends. We were booked on a table outside on the terrace as we have a dog. I, was phoned by the restaurant yesterday and asked if we would be happy to move to a table indoors as the weather was looking as though it might be raining. I reminded them that we would have our dog with us, but they said, if the dog was well behaved we could bring him indoors too. So we had a table in the restaurant, the weather today did turn out to be rather thundery, and wet. We arrived and were shown to the table and were offered water for our dog. The food was delicious...but let 's face it, for all its up-market pretentions, it 's a bistro overlooking the ferry ramp. Service was poor: I had to attract the waitress 's attention (too busy talking to the chef) to ask for a table. We then waited, for what seemed an eternity, for any kind of table service and finally a young waitress told us in the most supercilious and patronising manner that she 'd be with us in a minute . We only stayed because my wife stopped me walking out. To add insult to injury I overheard the fawning and overenthusiastic young man conducting table service remark to people he assumed were wealthier than me and my wife I can get anything if the tip is big enough !...

We enjoyed a fantastic Sunday lunch featuring confit belly pork and scallops to start, which were incredible. For our main course, we had sea bass with crab-crushed new potatoes—it was absolutely delicious. For dessert, we savored a blackberry apple frangipane tart, which was delectable, and a spiced apple ginger trifle that was one of the best we've ever had. We paired our meal with some delightful Negronis. A big thank you to Charlotte for her excellent service. The food was exceptional, and we regret not taking any photos. Thank you to everyone! This is a fantastic little spot with stunning views of Yarmouth Harbour. I dined in for brunch, and the overall experience was excellent. The food was top-notch, and the service was outstanding. The atmosphere was also lovely. I would definitely recommend it, with prices around £20–30 per person. Overall, I give it a perfect rating of 5 in food, service, and atmosphere. Amazing view over the port next to the castle. Food was great too, especially the mussels! Service could be better, specifically with cleaning the tables and bird poo off the chairs. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £30–40

The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. The food we ordered was excellent, and to make our experience even more memorable, we were treated to a special birthday dessert, which was a delightful surprise—thank you!
