We have eaten at Terrain Cafe twice; our first experience was amazing. However, our second experience wasn’t as good. I made a reservation, arrived five minutes early, and we were seated across from the noisy kitchen. We waited over 10 minutes before a server came to our table and only because I said something. I ordered an orange juice with my brunch and it took them another 10 minutes to come back to tell me they were out of orange juice I could have grown and squeezed orange juice in less time; how do you not have orange juice on hand for Sunday brunch?! Our orders were prepared wrong, the server never came to check on us, and they attempted to charge us for the orange juice!?! Everything...
Truly a bizarre experience. It felt like they had just opened that day and no one was trained. I had a 7pm dinner reservation, arrived a little early at 6:50pm. The hostess said she had other reservations ahead of us and would get us a table when one was available. I thought that was weird. We got seated just after 7pm and ordered a cheese board. It had the smallest potion of cheese I’ve ever seen. Entrees were good, we got the pork and chicken. We never got the potted bread, which was disappointing. The manager was running around trying to look busy but seemed clueless. Cute ambiance but the vibe of the staff was off. Will not go back.
Terrain Cafe was difficult to find especially on a dark and foggy night. The signage needs to be brighter and the description should more clearly delineate that the restuarant is associated with Anthropologie. (Ambience) Server was friendly and responsive as was the manager who checked in to make sure our dinner went well. Overall, a good experience really liked the farm to table aspect and the fact that the food was locally sourced. Look forward to a more expansive menu on my next visit.
This cafe in downtown Bethesda is a fantastic spot for a brunch date! The coffee, especially the cafe latte, was delicious (I'd rate it 8/10). We tried the breakfast board and a special off-menu pig belly burrito, both of which were scrumptious for a Saturday morning. The decor is beautiful, the atmosphere is inviting, and the staff were wonderful. We will definitely be returning to this gem of a cafe!

I enjoyed the food very much. We were seated just outside the kitchen area and there was quite a bit of noise coming from that direction. A little bit of a distraction. The restaurant was very lightly attended, so we could have been placed just about anywhere else! I would recommend the restaurant for the food. I understand that it serves a robust lunch crowd.

A friend and I came for brunch during the weekday and enjoyed it tremendously! The food and drinks were delish! Will definitely be back and most definitely recommend.
I love coming to terrain for the cheese boards! I had a lovely mocktail that was reasonably priced. we will be back!
