I have stooped at numerous cafes in Austria and mostly enjoyed the food and drink. However, Teufner isn't on the same level as those I have been to. Apple strudel should be simple to make but the one here is way over simplified with minimal...work done to prepare it. The crust should be flakey and one should not have to fight to cut it as I experienced. Service was good and the price was low. My recommendation in Melk is to walk down the hill into town, spend some more and enjoy what you are eating.

If you are in Melk you need to stop to this small and nice shop. They have excellent sweets for all tastes and on top of that the staff is super nice and friendly. The lady was extremely nice, she cut the poppy seed-plums cake...slice and nuts-apricots cake slice in half for me in order to taste both of them because i could not decide what to take. Both of them are delicious with great seasonal ingredients
We only lived for one night in Melk and went after the abbey visited Teufners. It was Mardi Gras Day so it was busy and everyone was in party mood, but we received a very warm welcome in Teufners. Delicious soup, great bread and fine white wine. Our hostess, whose daughter runs the café, was really helpful and made our visit to local wine with her advice. Reserva una mesa ahora
We had a very warm welcome in the small town of Melk with this beautiful café! Many nice options for breakfast sweet or hearty, find something to satisfy your breakfast needs. The service was very nice and welcoming as well as helpful...with tips around the city. definitely worth a visit
