Our family dined at Thai 54 restaurant with another family yesterday and had a rather disappointing experience. After ordering our starters, we were met with an unexpected and unpleasant situation. The staff appeared to be quite irritated by the noise our 4-year-old was making. To our surprise, either the owner or the head chef (it was unclear who he was) came out and addressed us very rudely. He suggested that we sit outside if we couldn't keep our toddler quiet, and he seemed visibly upset. We were taken aback by his attitude towards customers, as we have never encountered such behavior in any restaurant before. Feeling uncomfortable, we decided to leave. As for spice levels, I'm Indian and can only handle a little heat, so level 1 was just right for me. My sister can handle more spice, so she enjoyed level 2. If you like it really spicy, you can order level 3. The hostess mentioned that very few people choose level 4; if you can't even handle spicy Cheetos, level 1 might still be a stretch for you.
The hostess was incredibly friendly and helpful. For vegetarians, you can customize the Thai vegetable fried rice to exclude the egg.
Parking is convenient since it's located in a strip mall with plenty of spaces available.
I've visited this restaurant several times, and I've been consistently satisfied with both the quality and the prices. My favorite dish is always the salmon with eggplant. The restaurant is spacious and not usually crowded during lunch hours. I would love to see a dish featuring green or yellow curry with vegetables and rice on the menu. I hope the owner takes my feedback into consideration!
The yellow curry was delicious, with perfectly cooked potatoes and a wonderfully balanced sauce. I had the chicken, which was quite good. The rice portions were standard, but overall, it was a filling meal. Our server was very friendly, and the food was served in a timely manner. I would definitely recommend this place.
