Visited recently with family. Some had been before but this was the first time for my wife and me. I regret we live five hours drive from the restaurant because the visit was most enjoyable. Service was friendly and professional. All meals arrived in reasonable time and were of good size. We chose Paad Basil Tofu, Yum Yai, Paad Ped Moo Par Grob, Pad Med Ma Muang Himma Paan Gai, Pad Thai and rice. (For translation, you'll need a menu). The flavours were distinct and those items with a two chilli rating carried enough kick to let you know the chillis were there. Dropped in with friends (regulars) on their recommendation on a Saturday evening. Yes we did have a booking and that was a good idea as the room is not overly big and appears to be very popular. Lots of choices of standard Thai dishes, something for everyone. Found the Massaman and the Chilli Squid were real treats. BYO with very reasonable corkage ($2 a head) and a bottle shop next door! Couldn't fault the service. Overall impression was of a very good small (perhaps cafe style?) restaurant with fairly standard but well prepared and presented food. Not a fine diner but a pretty good casual or family experience.
Years ago in Wanniassa the Thai Amarin was the Thai restaurant of choice and Thai Basil was the 'also ran'.These days it is the other way around with Thai Basil being streets ahead of a tired and lower quality Thai Amarin.Basil offers an interesting array on the menu and happily varies the heat for customers who can't tolerate too much chili.Basil is one of our goto places for a quick, inexpensive catch-up with friends.
Called in the other evening after not being able to get into our first choice for the night. Hadn't eaten here previously, but will be back as this is an very good Thai restaurant. Has the "standard" Thai dishes, but also some that you don't see every day. The staff know the menu and are able to explain what is in the dishes. The tom yum soup was spicy and packed full of prawns and the Massaman curry fully of flavour.

We made a booking for a meal before a show, allowing an hour and a half to eat. The service was terribly slow because they gave priority to takeaway customers. We ordered two dishes. The first one arrived an hour after we had sat down and only after I had hassled the wait staff; the other dish arrived in a takeaway bag as we were about to leave.
Thursday night and although busy most tables had eaten. The staff didn't seem to be interested or keen to take our order. The food was not to previous standards to the extent that one of our party said the dish she ordered was a different colour to normal. Will take some time before attempting again if at all given the choice.
Every once in a while we head off to eat at thai basil after exploring with other restaurants we always come back here. Dishes are tasty, the menu has variety, staff are friendly and the prices are reasonable.
Had dinner here recently. Didn't have a booking but managed to get a table. Its BYO bottled beer / bottled wine - which is great (bottle shop located nearby). Food was tasty, service great. Highly recommend.

I was at Thai Basil on last Friday night, the food is great and service is excellent. Meal come on time (even they were busy) and the staff is really good with children.
Normally booked out, we went on a week day evening got a table easily as there was footy on. The soup
