I worked in Hamden for 18 years, just up the road from this restaurant that used to be called Thai Awesome. I always enjoyed the food there, so I was initially worried when I saw the name change, thinking it had new owners and wouldn't be as good. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was even better! The Tom Yum soup with shrimp had just the right amount of spice and lemongrass, giving it a flavorful kick. We also tried the fresh spring rolls with a delicious fish soy sauce that perfectly complemented the crunch of lettuce, basil, and shrimp. I've only ordered takeout here but if you're looking for an evening of Thai food, highly recommend Thai Smile! The menu is extensive and the prices are fair. The food quality is great and their curry's are flavorful. It's one of two best Thai places in Hamden in my opinion.
