I had been to this restaurant once before and remembered it very positively, so worked it into my travel again. As before the food was very good, had the basil rolls (peanut dipping sauce was undersupplied though). I went for the standard Pad Thai, asked for Thai hot, got Gringo hot, but whatever, and then Sang Ka Ya, the Thai custard with sticky rice, nothing better to top off a meal. About 80% of all activity was done by one very busy and very sweet young lady named Joy. There seemed to be two young men also working, one rarely came out so he must have been the cook, the other one spends most of his time staring blankly into space (or staring at customers eating) and doing nothing. In fact the only reason I got my Thai tea was because I flagged down Joy to re-order while the first guy just stared into space. The whole time there was a video screen (no audio) playing what appeared to be a Thai promotional video, with a lot of images of food being made. Virtually no one in the video was over the age of 22 and when on camera they put their energy not into Thai stuff but into adopting American gangsta-rap poses. Very surreal. I'll go to any Thai restaurant that has both fresh rolls and Sang Kaya, and both are good here. But they need to hire more people and train them to actually do something. I made it a point to complement Joy on how hard she was working and getting everything done, and personally handed her a large tip so that staring-into-space-boi wouldn't get it.
