Team Fam came here for dinner and I had a good taste of the following:Shrimp Pad Thai (~$13)Yellow Curry with Chicken (~$13)They didn’t list the prices for these items on the menu when we went so I had to guesstimate these prices from my credit card statement. Anyway, the Shrimp Pad Thai came with a total of 4 pieces of shrimp. Splitting this with my mom meant I wish there were more pieces. On the corner of East Hastings and Nanaimo Streets in East Vancouver, in an area now quaintly called "The East Village", is Thailicious. They used to be delivery only, located in some kitchen space somewhere nearby, but several years ago put their name on this location. It's good. At the corner of East Hasting and Nanaimo, this little Thai restaurant serves good, fresh food with no fuss, in a come-as-you-are atmosphere. They have all the requisite Thai dishes, soups to help us through those cold gray Vancouver days, creamy curries from mild to weepingly spicy, some great broad noodle dishes, vegetarian dishes, desserts including ice cream for those of us crazy enough to have ordered the spiciest stuff. A very small place with seating for 16? Food is cooked fast and fresh. A nice varied menu with good price range. Lunch and dinner specials offered daily. Family owned and operated. Lunch for two with a doggy bag to take home was $20. Parking is sprinkled around the neighbourhood. Located in a great area with lots of other healthy competition to keep the quality up and price reasonable. They ask the level of spice and are true to their word. We will be back. Great local haunt. I was visiting a friend and he ordered takeout from this restaurant. We had the chicken satay, calamari and vegetarian Pad Thai. The chicken was so tender and came with a delicious peanut sauce. The calamari was one of the best I had ever had. It was so tender and flavourful. The Vegetarian Pad Thai was also very good. Delivery arrived in under 30 minutes, very impressive. The prices are very reasonable. I will definitely order again.
Thailicious is an excellent Thai take-out place in the East Village neighbourhood in Vancouver. ItsThai curry dishes are as good as the curry I had in Bangkok and Chiang Mai, Thailand a few years ago. Thailicious is run by a group of friends, it has very good service, they remember you by first name if you are a repeat customer. Prices are reasonable. Highly recommended.
