We come for dinner at the Abbotsford Hotel whenever possible. It is one of my kids favourite places to eat! The portions are a great size and always fresh. The staff are fantastic and very attentive, nothing is too much trouble. The deserts are always great. The only comment I would make is in recent years the outside of the building now looks very run down. For guests getting married here or having functions, the outside isn’t fantastic for photos. There is a lovely wee grassy area at the back with a wooden frame however other than that the walls are needing a lick of paint!
My family recently dined at this restaurant, which included 9 adults, including one in a wheelchair, and a toddler. The staff were extremely accommodating, ensuring we had a suitable accessible table and even providing pens and coloring sheets to keep our tired 2-year-old entertained. The service was quick and efficient, with no long waits for our starters and mains. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals, as the portions were generous. Overall, we had no complaints and were too full for dessert. We will definitely be returning when we are back in the area!
Have been to this restaurant so many times for great meals but never reviewed it. So thought I should confirm how good it is. The staff are always very helpful, friendly attentive. Food is always delicious. The space between tables is perfect for anyone who is still a bit unsure with socialising. One of my friends is still very unsure about mixing and will only come to this restaurant. Lovely restaurant with great food and staff. Well done!
Went here for a meal as a family of 4. The restaurant was quite busy when we got there but quietened down by the time we we left.. The food was very tasty and the staff couldn't have been nicer. The service was top class and the food arrived very quickly. For the 3 courses and coffees the price was really reasonable. Will be returning again. The menu has food to suit all tastes. (Special mention to the Mac and cheese).

We frequently visit this restaurant for lunch. The menu offers a wide variety of options, including choices for pescatarians, ovo-lactarians, and vegans. The owners and staff are always friendly and accommodating, willing to accommodate reasonable requests such as making a dish spicier or addressing valid criticisms like overly salty dishes.
Popped in for lunch and despite it being November since we were last in, the waitress remembered us and gave us a lovely welcome. Cannot fault anything at all during our visit, as service was excellent, the food served promptly and piping hot, and delicious. We will be back again, and it won't be as long as six months. 5 stars
This is a very good place for a lunch, preferably in the restaurant: nothing against the lounge bar as such, but you get windows you can see out of in the restaurant. The menu is extensive, well cooked, and includes a range of pescatorian and vegetarian options.
The portion sizes at this restaurant have noticeably decreased, which makes it feel like less of a value for the price. While the food is still tasty, the smaller portions are disappointing compared to past experiences.

This restaurant does not look like much from the outside but once inside it is very nice. Service and food was great. I recommend this for a quick stop off the road or a special meal.
