We arrived at the Anchor Inn after kayaking from Fladbury. The three of us were starving the pub was a lovely traditional local pub with very friendly and knowledgeable staff. We are 20 year old lads from university so we love our ale and they had a very good selection. We were also very impressed with there menu as when you have to decide between fish and chips and hunters chicken you can only order one of each, as we had a vegetarian in our tribe he still had a good selection to choose from. The seating outside was clean and tidy also very comfy. The food was amazing, the chef and staff did a very good job you won't go hungry as all three meals were a good size for three hungry students, t...

Visited this pub for food for the first time under the new owners. Overall I was impressed. The food was well cooked, 2 of us had the duck which was on the specials and they were both very impressed. The service was excellent and the staff and the management were very friendly. The children enjoyed their meals and the staff were good with them so I would recommend bringing the family. My only criticism is that not many people were using this pub for food for a Saturday evening so it was a little too quiet, hopefully with more advertising and more good reviews they should be able to bring in more custom. People should definitely come here for a meal.

We were on a Narrowboat cruise on the Avon River and stopped here for lunch. Great choice. Quiet, great beers and ales, and excellent food. We weren 't sure what to order, so one of us ordered the soup and I ordered the Butcher 's Faggots with mash and gravy along with the requisite local beers. What fun. The faggots were very rich and so we ended up sharing a dessert. The people watching was great. Another customer ordered a dessert and when it came she commented on the size of the serving. The waiter responded You should see the size of the chef! Hope no one gets into trouble for that revelation. The chef knows how to cook.

We went for a meal, and whilst I can't remember what the other two had, I was presented with three chicken breasts (piri-piri, cajun and plain) which challenged a pretty prodigious appetite. Views over the river, friendly service, met the owner's baby, and generally had a very pleasant evening. We'd heard that things had been difficult, but encountered no evidence of the fact. It was quick, clean, efficient and nicely rural. You can;t ask for more! Reserva una mesa ahora

Contrary to previous posts i have to say this pub is not what it's made out to be, this is my local and yes the staff are friendly and yes the food is good and yes the location is great, everywhere has an off day and it should not deter people coming to the Anchor, after seeing this review I spoke to some of the people eating here today and heard nothing but good about food and drink. See pictures with this post to substantiate this.

Was advised that a new chef had been employed and tried it out. Place almost empty. Waited 55 minutes. Excuse was that a party of 5 had arrived(after us, it should be said)and this was causing delays!! Lovely location so why can't lawns be cut, weeds trimmed, plates and cutlery cleared up etc.Average meal, not cheap and not worth returning

Went for lunch with my friend. The starter of Brazil, mozzarella and pine nut arancini was delicious. Followed but a homemade burger and vanilla and white chocolate cheesecake. The staff were friendly and very helpful. A lovely place to come and socialise. Food was very prompt. Could not fault our visit. Will be coming again.

Lovely meal and setting, great service and friendly staff. Slightly reduced menu on a Sunday, but the roast was one of the best I've had veg done really well, yorkshire pudding and roasties done well and extra gravy. Homemade cheesecake and vanilla icecream (with real vanilla seeds in) were also delicious. Thank you. Reserva una mesa ahora

We arrived by boat to be greeted by the landlord who offered us a drink at the mooring couldn't have been more helpful we stayed all night ate very good food and we're made to feel more welcome than I've felt in a long time. Would highly recommend to anyone.
