I went to this restaurant with my friends for drinks and was rudely spoken to by the blonde bartender. Despite purchasing more than 6 drinks for 5 people, we were told we must buy 6 drinks for all 6 of us. One person in our group didn't want to drink and because of that, we were treated in a hostile manner. I have been a local resident for 15 years and don't often visit this pub. I recommended it to my friends for a relaxed evening, but I will not be returning after this experience. I was embarrassed by the poor treatment we received, especially considering I had previously recommended this place as a nice pub in a small village.
Wow! What a gem!! The seafood platter is enormous and just as good as served at West Mersea without the long drive! Very good alternatives on the specials board, and a good standard menu. WE WILL BE BACK! Good friendly service, this as good as it gets for a small local pub. Well Done and thank you!
Oh my goodness! This place is a hidden treasure!! We visited for Sunday lunch and the roast trio was absolutely fantastic. The atmosphere in the restaurant was cozy and inviting. The service was top-notch, attentive but not overbearing. We will definitely be coming back.
traditional pub with good food and service really enjoyed on Sunday lunch . also have a lot of Thai food on the menu that we will return and try. complicates to the young lady who served us, she showed really good customer service

This restaurant is amazing! The service and food are both great. There is a reason why we always return here. It is a lovely country pub. My little girl loves coming here and always receives a nice warm welcome. Thank you.
great local pub. excellent eating and friendly service. they had a lunch party of 23 people, but they still found time to serve us. I had a lively Asian dish. comprehensive menu catering for every taste.
A warm and welcoming village pub. Comfortable changes to seating areas have enhanced the decor and gives more space. Christmas menu was good and the food was well presented.
