I bought a Groupon voucher for a Christmas present and was disappointed and utterly embarrassed with the quality of the food and service. The waiter was possibly may been new but did not seem to really know what he was doing. It took 20 minutes to pour our drinks and bring them over (there were only 4 other people in the restaurant). The 8 course tapas menu was actually just two tasting plates so possibly should just advertise as such in future. What a joke. Received a Groupon for Christmas, had heard bad things about the place but decided to give it a go due to the present. The poor boy serving us had no clue what he was doing, after asking for a drinks menu and finishing our platter (besides the mouldy piece of cheese) he finally came to take our mains and drinks order. Another half hour later our mains arrived. The chicken was bland as anything, the pork belly crackling was soft and spongey. And the "dessert" was a bowl of poorly presented goop with mushy strawberries and slimy banana. 0/10
We came here as part of a groupon 3 course deal. Beautiful entree, all elements of the tasting plate were delicious and the dessert was good too. However, the 2 mains had issues - very over cooked salmon and potato gratin, disappointing as all the elements were nice! And the pork was also dry with a very limp Asian vegetable side that didn't work with the pork and Shiraz jus. Good service and atmosphere and we would return in future but hopefully the protein will be less cooked in future.
Haven't been in years. Took friends who were visiting Sth Aust for lunch. Wow what has happened? The food expansive for what it is and wine list for the Vale is not that great and again over priced. Service slow and not really well informed on the day we were there. There are so many great cafe and Restaurents in the Vale like Carmels or The New Tin Shed, give this one a miss.

We had a groupon 3 course deal for $59. All courses were fine and we left satisfied. My husband particularly enjoyed the pork belly. I had the salmon, which was moist and tasty. The normal menu looks interesting and I would like to go back and try some of their tapas. People beside me seemed to be enjoying their Angus beef sliders. Staff were friendly and helpful.
We fortunately found this place after checking out some expensive options. We didn't feel like a big dinner, so were happy with the pastas and risottos on order.Service was friendly and there was a fire (though the area towards the front of the restaurant is a bit breezy). Enjoyed a drink from the bar.
Our second visit hoping things would improve. Not the case. Meals came out at different times even drinks arrived 10 minutes apart. Cocktail full of seeds with every mouthful. Its really not that hard to get these things right.
The Artel restaurent is very great restaurent and perfect meal. We visited last month during our 25 th anniversory. They treated well They have nice staff, They offered nice food and delcious food Must visit again

Iris, our waitress, was exceptional. The duck and walnut pate was excellent. Great for a quick lunch before heading back to the city.
