The At The Anchor Inn

This pub is one of our favourites and in the most beautiful situation by Cockwood harbour. The pub was buzzing as it was the evening before Christmas Eve, but as usual the service was excellent. We had a sharing Camembert to start with fresh crusty bread to dip…..absolutely delicious. For main my partner had rump steak, well this was the the most tasty and perfect steak ever, cost around £21, I had gammon steak, again the most tasty and perfect gammon. We were very happy and super full by the time we’d eaten our meal. Top marks. Tiny downside with this beautiful pub is the cost of the liquid refreshments, but hey ho, you are sitting in the most beautiful surroundings eating the most deliciou...

We had an absolutely superb meal at the Anchor inn, although it was busy there was not a long wait to be served. I had chicken curry and without doubt one of the best and tastiest curries I have ever had and beautifully presented. I believe everyone in our family were also equally impressed. This is a lovely and spacious inn with very impressive gardens overlooking the river and with numerous seating with tables which we were able to enjoy after our meal. Well done Anchor inn you are a real jewel to add to the beautiful Devon countryside, we will be back!!!! P.S. I should also mention the meal was very well complemented by the the very efficient and attentive service.

After nearly two decades of saying… we must eat there one day, actually stopped and ate at The Anchor and can’t believe I waited so long. Pub itself is amazing with great harbour and train line views. The food, whilst on first glance more expensive than your typical pub food more than made up for that in quality. Definitely worth a visit

Best place we ate all week by a mile. We love seafood and this place **** delivered!!!!! Lovely setting too. Book a table to make sure you do not miss out it was busy even on a Wednesday night when we went and needed to wait for a table. We love this pub and often pop in for a drink or quick lunch. Today we had our first Sunday roast and it was perfect. The roast beef was cooked to perfection and great choice of veggies and Yorkshire pudding. Dessert included in the price and a good choice also delicious. Staff attentive and friendly. Thankyou.

We visited The Anchor last night 5,11,22 and it was batter than perfect, there were clear plates throughout, the waitress was wonderful in fact the whole waiting staff were faultless, I will 100% be returning D, Collingwood

Lovely Christmas Eve Dinner! We had the most delicious Christmas dinner at the Anchor Inn, so tasty and plentiful. It was excellent value for 3 courses and our waitress was so sweet and efficient! Would highly recommend!

A lovely old fashioned, low beam, classic pub environment. Attentive and wonderfully chatty staff. Gorgeous food in generous portions. Already planning my next holiday to Devon just to eat here again! Reserva una mesa ahora

Excellent meal, we had the seafood platter ,soo good Followed by sticky toffee pudding and banoffee pie Would definitely recommend
