1. Arrived early for our 8.00 booking but left waiting to check-in while staff stood outside smoking. 2. Ordered food but later told they only had one of the steaks we had ordered. Should have been told when we ordered. 3. When meals arrived very poor steak quality. Grissily and could chew it. Both of the steak meals had one shrivelled up mushroom but only one had half of tomatoe, old shrivelled rocket leaves. Small portion of chips with both. 4. We ask for the desert menu but was told that the kitchen had closed. Bare in mind it was just around 21.00. I had made a reservation in advance for a lunchtime meal to celebrate my birthday with my wife, daughter, and son-in-law. When we arrived at the restaurant, it was quite quiet. We were seated at a table, ordered drinks, and then made our selections from the menu. The starters - prawn cocktails and calamari - were decent, but the main courses were a disappointment. The chicken and rib combos we ordered looked unappetizing. The ribs were overcooked and dry, with the coating almost crunchy, while the chicken breasts were also dry. This restaurant (with the ambiance of a works canteen) is desperately in need of refurbishment. Very cold with several customers sat in coats. The carpets were stained and ingrained with dirt. Worse than a back street ‘boozer’. Similarly, the chairs were stained and dirty. Gents toilets very dated with a 1970’s look. Overall impression YUK! I haven’t been to a Beefeater for years and based on this experience, the ‘offer’ hasn’t changed one bit. Certainly won’t rush to return. Come on Whitbread, spend some money on your restaurants and you may find customers want to visit AND return. You deserve to fail based on my experience.
We popped here with 2 friends the Friday night before Christmas. Restaurant virtually empty plenty of tables. Stood by wait to be seated sign for well over 10 mins with staff going to and thro. When we were seated I ordered the chicken melt which was £14 something. The meal was poor photo attached. Just looked like something dished up by a canteen cook not chef. My husband had a gammon meal and friends fish and chips which was better. Good job it was 30% off or I would have been very upset

I write this because I sit on my table. Full and happy with the fine service we have received. came as a large family of 10 places. a beautiful new starter called kamil served us and from the beginning greeted us with a smile. he said it was his 4th layer. he was so polite and could not do enough for us. eating was very well cooked. a hard task to feed with so many. what a pretty young man. thanks kamil. we'll see her for breakfast.
Great place for breakfast. Genuine welcome from Danni who looked after us so well, she was very attentive and helpful. Spoilt for choice on the continental and then got to choose our cooked food whatever we wanted cooked fresh by the chef,Ron, who did a brilliant job. Everything cooked perfect. Thankyou.Such value for money will never go back to help yourself buffet places again.See you again very soon.
We reserved a table for six for breakfast and upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by Dani with a friendly smile. She escorted us to our table and encouraged us to enjoy the continental breakfast selection. Shortly after, she took our orders for the cooked breakfast which promptly arrived. The food was delicious as usual and we didn't feel rushed, creating a lovely atmosphere.
The food was average, but we were disappointed with the dessert menu as the waiter never returned to take our order. We ended up having to get up and pay before mentioning to the waiter that we would have liked dessert. He simply said he was making dessert. When we mentioned this to the bartender while paying, he did not respond. Overall, the customer service was terrible.

really enjoyable visit, certainly felt and will return. fixed menu was lovley and special mention to bianca our waitress who was lovley, friendly, very helpful and made us laugh
Great value breakfast with a great choice of food and drinks. Excellent service with polite and friendly staff that make you feel welcome.
