The Bake Shoppe, like many operations these days, is running into staffing issues. Or at least so it would seem. Snafu 's in the kitchen, delayed start on opening Come back in an hour. We 'll be ready then. , etc. The item that keeps us coming back is the Italian Cream cupcake. Consistently flavorful and not too dry. Really the best of this variety in town. Other items are good, but not as stand out. The Shoppe will take phone orders, makes sheet cakes, and other items if you want to plan ahead for an event.I will continue to stop in, and anticipate some of the issues of the day will be resolved by then.Things to know: I hate to bother folks by calling the store, but so far it would have bee...
I stepped into the Bake Shoppe to get some sweet treats for a friend on a Friday afternoon. I was surprised to see there was a line, but there seemed to be a combination of people just getting a treat and others who were picking up pre-ordered its. This local business is not very visible but is definitely worth finding. They have traditional cakes and cupcakes, items for a tea party like petit fours and tea cookies; and ordinary items like cookies and whoopee pies. Because it was late in the day, the variety wasn't the best, but she offered to make up more of the mini cheese cakes because they only had blueberry left. Support local by stopping into this yummy shop.
In reading about The Bake Shoppe, I discovered the ancestry here was from Barbaras Bake Shop down on Ingersoll Ave back in the 70s/80s. They were famous for their champagne cakes. They were so good. Today, we ordered an 8 inch champagne cake thinking how how good it would be. Unfortunately, there was no comparison from days gone past till now. To start with, it cost $38. Secondly, it was all frosting. The cake was just so-so and there was some type of hard candy decorations on top of the cake that were so hard made you wonder if your tooth broke when biting down on them. Just so very disappointed.
This charming little bakery is a must-visit! I tried the pink champagne cake for the first time, and it was absolutely delightful! The woman at the counter shared that it's the original recipe that inspired the store's creation, which I found fascinating. They also have a great selection of other treats, and my husband really enjoyed the cheesecake bites. I highly recommend stopping by for some delicious sweets! Reserva una mesa ahora
When I picked up my cake, it was already on the table with my name on it. As I was about to take it, the lady there rudely told me that I shouldn't just touch things and that I needed to wait for assistance. I had already paid for it, and it was clearly marked with my name. Her demeanor was rude and unacceptable! I will never return to this place. I would advise others to take their business elsewhere!
Ordered cupcakes for my son’s bday. These were great! Not dry or bland (had a lot of dry, flavorless cupcakes) timely and had a lot of variety on the shelf. Since it was Halloween time, she had a brain cake for sale so we grabbed that too. Delicious! We did add a bit to the cupcakes but everything was delicious.
I'm a little delayed in this review but I got a cake last month for a birthday party, and the staff was up to the challenge and fully delivered an adorable and fun dinosaur cake! It tasted great too!! I also grabbed a lemon poppy seed cake on the way out for myself and LOVED it. Staff are super friendly too!
