OMG this place is soooooo goood!!! I was arguing with my date about which seafood pancake to get so we got the mini prawn ones and all out half moon fold kind. The coconut corn like crunch of the casing leads to a succulent prawn and twang from scallions. Great starter.<br/ <br/ For mains we had the CARAMELISED SALMON bathed in a beautiful sauce which oh so slightlu burned to the claypot upon which we threw our rice into. The PAPAYA SALAD with pork and prawn has a beautiful kick to it if you like your spice!<br/ <br/ Great service, wonderful atmosphere and excellent selection menu curation by the 'bald viet ' chef/owner himself, Andy!!!
Great place with good prices. We ordered:<br/ tofu summer rolls: very nice, probably nicer with meat in them but we had a vegetarian at the table!<br/ chicken curry: this was my favorite meal. The curry sauce was just so delicious<br/ shaking beef: not amazing, the meat was a bit sinue y<br/ vegetable stir fried noodle: flavours were really tasty, a lot of salt and pepper was used but it was delicious!<br/ We got a few other dishes I can't recall, and it only ended up being $30 each with corkage so quite a good price!
I went here family the other week and have been meaning to write a review since. Being from a Vietnamese background my parents can be harsh critics of the food, however we were surprised and delighted to enjoy every single dish that came out. We had some of the more traditional food caramelised fish, sour soup and DIY summer rolls. Everything was really flavoursome, I will definitely be returning.
The bustling restaurant in the heart of Balmain offers delicious and fresh Vietnamese cuisine. During my visit on a Friday night, I had some of the best Vietnamese spring rolls I've ever tasted, thanks to the flavorful peanut sauce. The Chicken Salad and Caramelised Fish were also highlights for me. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was casual and family-friendly.

This place is fantastic. Located on a corner this place is modern and open and I love the big windows and bright space. The customer service is super attentive and the staff really know their menu. Street parking is very easy. I highly recommend the caramelised fish and the prawn savoury mini crepes. I can't wait to revisit.
Really enjoyed our dinner at The Bald Viet. All the food was fresh and tasty. Service was attentive and the food came out very quickly. The crispy crepe was delicious and the banana fritters for dessert are a must! Well worth it and great pricing.
Make your own rolls option with prawns were amazing!! Also had seafood fried rice for something different and was pleasantly surprised as sometimes seafood rice or noodle dishes can be a bit too fishy! Will definitely come back and try more!
Highly recommended! Had the lotus stem salad, crepes, stir fry glass noodle and pho.All were superb, with the lotus stem salad and crepes especially memorable.Vietnamese cuisine is magical when done right, and this place proves it.

I visited this restaurant for the first time two weeks ago and was very impressed with the food. The seafood birdsnest and the glass noodles with crab were particularly outstanding dishes. I am excited to come back soon.
