We recently visited The Bell for a work reunion and all seven of us had a fantastic time. The pub is spacious and was bustling with diners on the Friday night we visited, which is a testament to the great value pub food they offer. Our orders were taken quickly and the food arrived promptly. The breaded mushrooms we started with were delicious, as were the Nachos which came in a generous portion. The main courses were equally tasty, with options like fish and chips, lasagne, and fish pie all being well-received. My Mom, who lives in Redditch recommended The Bell, I have not been here since i lived in Astwood Bank 30+ years ago! Booked a table and was advised we will have 2 hours at the table, which was fine. We when we arrived we were shown to our table and ordered drinks, the menus were given to us and they were full and varied with a great selection including a Sunday lunch menu. We ordered and the food arrived promptly, looking fab and it tasted fantastinc. Hot plates and food and fantastic presentation. Arrived for 12 had not booked a table so went to the bar area! To be asked if I needed help, stated I was just looking. Told by a blonde lady, just one table left only Tuesday! Requested a corner spot, not allowed there, but sat in another bar area! Another couple were sat very close to us! Corner spot remained empty. Ordered a dish off the menu not available!! maybe do not have it on the menu then! The whitebait not great and the fishcakes were tasteless! Did not dare complain. Unfriendly, cater more for the elderly and those who had booked! Won t recommend or go back average place and the bar area should be okay to sit where is more comfortable!
