The Black Horse - Reserva de mesa

We stopped for lunch at this restaurant during our circular walk in Princes Risborough on the Mayday Bank Holiday Monday. It's not a day that the restaurant usually serves food, so we were grateful for the 3 hot main options available on the menu that day. The setting was pleasant, with friendly staff and a nice community atmosphere. However, it seemed like the landlady was cooking alone and it took a while for all of us to be served. I chose the more expensive chilli con carne, which was tasty but the portion was smaller compared to the cheaper panini options. Despite this, the meal was still enjoyable and probably better for my high cholesterol issues.

I usually don't write reviews on TripAdvisor, but I had to make an exception for The Black Horse after my visit today. My friend and I were craving a traditional Sunday lunch and decided to give The Black Horse a try based on a few online reviews. It turned out to be one of the best Sunday lunches we've ever had. The selection was great, portions were generous, service was excellent from start to finish, and everything was served piping hot at a fantastic price. Plus, they offer a great selection of beers! We will definitely be returning soon.

We have been meaning to try The Black Horse and finally got around to it. Typical pub grub menu with a few specials. 5 of us all chose different things and dishes were all very tasty. The only slightly negative comment was that the chilli was very mild. Good sized portions and the food and plates all nice and hot. Nice garden with tables and chairs and a small area for toddlers. The pub seems more spacious as the new people have changed the tables around giving it a less crowded feel. We will definitely be back.

Six hungry cyclists from London turned up today and we all enjoyed our meals and drink. A very pleasant friendly welcome and they couldn't do enough for us. This is a no-frills proper pub where it seems that quality counts. I wish this was my local! Reserva una mesa ahora

My friends and I received a warm friendly welcome on arrival. Lovely choices of food on the menu, plus specials board too. Food well presented, tasty and enough of it. Friendly staff and a nice environment. Highly recommended.

The meal was absolutely delightful, freshly prepared with a fantastic staff and welcoming atmosphere. I highly recommend this charming pub, which has been recently renovated, to everyone.

Very quaint traditional pub . Staff very helpful and friendly , excellent home cooked food and good selection of ales . Nice outside seating area to rear .
