This restaurant is a hidden gem in Chesham! The staff is fantastic and provides excellent service. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble, and they made us feel very welcome. The food was outstanding, and the atmosphere was wonderfully relaxed despite the pub being quite busy. It's great to see that everyone is welcome here, including dogs. The beer garden is enormous and features a separate bar and grill, making it an ideal spot for both adults and children. There’s also a dedicated playground for kids and a fenced area for dogs to enjoy. It’s a shame this hidden treasure isn’t closer to home; we would love to have a pub like this in our village. Our closest pub we have been desperate to have a good old local we can walk to and so glad the owners have decided to get the amazing Lisa on board. You can guarantee that with this woman at the helm that food, drink and service will be continuously top notch and after our first visit post refurb we were not disappointed. Great fresh decor that maintains the beautiful old pub, yummy food we can definitely recommend the veggie burger and the homemade pies, attentive staff and a lively welcome. We'll look forward to our next visit.
During our visit for the vegan night, the food was amazing! The staff was friendly and incredibly helpful. I'm not vegan, but I have an intolerance to dairy, so we decided to give it a try. The dishes were top-notch and fantastic. We're looking forward to going back again! By the way, the chocolate dessert was to die for! It's rare to see such delicious options in desserts, usually it's just fruit salad, so that was a pleasant surprise. May I please have the recipe? Everything was wonderful!
I can't speak highly enough about the staff, service, food, and drinks at this pub; it truly is a hidden gem. My family recently spent 8.5 hours here, and with my two young kids, aged 8 and 5, they were so engaged in the games available that they hardly ever asked for our iPads or phones. This is a fantastic country pub! It's very family-friendly, with plenty of space for children to roam around, including a small football pitch with mini goals. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and they even opened the kitchen a bit early for our very hungry kids. The food is excellent, especially the cakes, which are simply delightful, and the chips are some of the best I've ever had. We will definitely return! Highly recommended!
We had a truly wonderful afternoon at this restaurant. Our large group included many toddlers and babies, and the staff were exceptionally friendly and accommodating. The food was excellent, and the venue is perfect for families. The expansive garden provides plenty of space for the kids to play, and the setting is absolutely beautiful. A special thanks to all the staff for their care, especially Matt. We had a delightful day!
We stopped by on a whim while passing through, and what a delightful experience it was! The pub staff were amazing, and the service was exceptional—they were very attentive. I come here a lot with my best mate and our two dogs. Lovely walk if you park in chesham and walk with the dogs to the pub. It has a bowls area, kids area, doggy area outside BBQ area, places for dogs to drink. Drinks are reasonable and food is lovely finished off with really nice and friendly staff.
