It was our first visit to the Black Lion in Appledore and we were not disappointed. The decor was modern but there still kept the charm of a village pub. The service was great and our Sunday lunch was exceptional. It had a great atmosphere and we will definitely be returning. Have known this pub for 25 years and this was my first chance to visit since its refurbishment and my word it does not let you down. The food is great and the choice is well spread, so is the beer and the vine. Excellent value for money we left stuffed with a smile on our faces very friendly with good service. One of the best posh pub meals we 've had in a long time. The food is well presented and was really good. Service was friendly and accommodated our requests for slight changes. we went to the black lion on 22/01/17 and wow, what a big pub and restaurant eating was perfect service was also perfect personal friendly it could be a bit mistake I would recommend it to everyone to think about the going.

we were out on Sunday and thought we would stop at lunch. come in here and have a great lunch. generous portioning and friendly staff. in any case recommend.
