The Black Stallion

I'm from Boston and I'm used to eating well. If we eat in the middle of nowhere when we visit the family of upstate New York, we have low expectations. BUT this place is completely phenomenal! My FIghter and I enjoyed the delicious, damp tuna special while my husband shaved over the pig. I have never written a review, but was inspired by this experience. I also spoke to the owner who advised that he did all the sauces himself and told me how he carefully puchases to achieve the excellent meal we have experienced!

Five stars! This is one of my favorite restaurants! The meals are consistently delicious. Whenever I'm deciding where to go for dinner, I always end up here. The steaks are cooked to perfection, the fish is fresh and flavorful, and the pasta dishes are both satisfying and indulgent. The prices are reasonable, and the staff is friendly. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. It's no surprise they've been around for so long!

Stopped on a Saturday without reservations but they found a table for us without hesitation. Great service. Food was out quickly. It was delicious! My husband had the pork chop and I had the chicken and shrimp special. So much food I couldn't finish it. Highly recommend this restaurant. If we lived closer, we'd be coming here every weekend.

Absolutely worth the stop!! Everything was beyond what we expected! What a great gem. Jenny was a fantastic server and the host (aka the owner) was so personable and truly loves his place and it shows! Thank you to the entire staff for providing such a wonderful meal in an amazing atmosphere. Our new favorite when we are in the area!

The service was quite poor, but the food was excellent. I tried the fish parmesan and the spinach artichoke soup, both of which were fresh, hot, and flavorful. The restaurant has a definite Midwest feel, though it’s not entirely typical. I would definitely return.

The restaurant is definitely bustling with activity and filled with locals. Although we were visiting from New Jersey, we felt warmly welcomed. The portions are generous, so nearly everyone walks away with leftovers.

The food was excellent, and the service was superb. This family-owned Italian restaurant offers a refreshing alternative to typical chain establishments. I highly recommend this restaurant for any occasion.

We went to The Black Stallion last month. I had the Seafood Stuffed Haddock and my boyfriend had the Broiled Haddock special. The food was very good. The waitress was very friendly as well! We will return.

Great food and excellent service! The atmosphere is pleasant, but it tends to be quite busy, so it's best to make a reservation. If you don’t have one, they’ll do their best to accommodate you.
