We were a party of six at a family celebration on a Saturday evening. The area is divided into two with the bar in one section and a separate but adjoining dining area.The service was very slow, mainly because it seemed that there was only one person serving both the restaurant and a fairly busy bar. There were only 10 diners all evening.Some of the party had starters of baked Camenbert. These were good and definitely designed to be shared!The mains however were all disappointing.The lamb shanks were well cooked but the vegetables were poor. Went here as was close to camp site. We walked in and not one look from woman behind bar she took forever to serve someone finally getting to us we ordered a roast dinner £14 so figured should be good we took our drinks sat in garden.saw a few roast dinners pass us all with burnt yorkshire pudding! Not a great sign! 20 mins later it came out....well meat and potatoes not just cold! Stone cold i told the barstaff to feel it she replied oh ok i will put it in microwave !!!?? 10 mins later still no sign i went in bar and asked for refund. Stopped here for lunch on our way back from the garden centre. Lily was a very friendly helpful barmaid. My sister, daughter myself all had different burgers from the menu they were all delicious. Served on a piece of slate with choice of chunky chips, skinny fries or sweet potato fries coleslaw. Would go back again.

A short walk from longacres caravan and camping site and was well worth it It was very quiet when we entered the pub The landlord made us feel very welcome We stayed until the pub closed , the atmosphere in the pub was very enjoyable and relaxing Deffenatly worth a visit

this was an accidental visit but glad we did. welcomed warmly great food ,amiable people and above all affordable. i will be back
