This a great place to celebrate birthdays. Our group consisted of Senior ladies who happen to enjoy English Tea Parties and each other's company. We had a wonderful time. The tiered tea stand had cream cheese and cumber sandwiches as well as egg...and tuna salad. The scones were fresh and accompanied by clotted cream and jam. The desserts consisted of lemon tarts and other treats. Each plate came garnished with fresh fruit pieces and flowers. The bounty was both tasty and beautiful. The mixed matched teacups and saucers, teapots, creamers and sugar pots were cute. The mix and match chairs were comfortable. The washrooms were accessible. We sat and waited 10 minutes. There were 5 or 6 servers but they were mostly standing around talking. I finally walked to the counter and asked if I had to order there or if someone was going to come to the table. A girl apologized and immediately came over. We ordered. She brought our food and drinks and never came back to refill the teapot or ask how everything was. I took our teapot to the counter and asked another girl to fill it. The table cloths were dirty on several tables. The almond milk was curdled. The food was good. There were plenty of servers but they were not attentive to customer service. The prices on the website need to be updated to reflect the menu prices.

We enjoyed High Tea at The Boathouse this week. it was your traditional high tea with the sandwiches, scones and treats. First, the sammies - they were ok. but a bit heavy from a high tea perspective - the cucumber ones in particular were overwhelming with cream cheese. I'd suggest lighter and more like fingerlings. The SCONES are VERY VERY GOOD! Could use more clotted cream and jam portions but good layer on the whole. The treats were also excellent.The tea was decent.The ambiance was great - it is a great old house and nice seating. We enjoyed our afternoon experience and finished with a walk along the trail close by The Boathouse.

This is one of our favourite places to lunch. Delicious food that is reasonably priced and set right on the river. Loose-leaf tea served in Mismatched cups and saucers give this place a whimsical feel. Try the breakfast plate or quiche. I only wish they were open for a longer season. I'd you are up for it, canoes and kayaks are available to rent before or after your tea.

Finally stopped in after driving back and forth along Gordon St. For many years. We sat outside in the sunshine and had the soup and wrap combo. They were both absolutely delicious. Service was fine and the place was extremely busy. We then shared a yummy butter tart - very large and plenty for sharing. Will make this our new great place to go in Guelph.

Came across the place while driving by and decided to stop and find out more! My girlfriend and I were wowed with an amazing cream tea - a little skimpy on the jam and cream but more was provided when we asked. The scones are light and sweet and the presentation well done. Highly recommend this tea room.

Humungous Ice Cream Cones out front, elegant tea room in back. Canoe rental outside. Neat little spot for ice cream and nothing comes close to the monster serving you are going to get. Summer time in Guelph means at least one visit here

One of the most quaint places in Guelph the food is excellent. Getting tea in the traditional pots and cups it’s a nice touch. The perfect place for a girls day for Mother’s Day.

We had a really nice time here, and the ice cream was very good. Sitting by the river was relaxing. I suggest visiting for those who just want a quiet ice cream by the river.
