Wonderful Charity night in aid of JRDF organised by Mr Brian McBain friends A lot of hardwork was put into this event. Sadly as a disabled customer (in a wheelchair) the facilities where sadly lacking; 1. No ramp at the door so if you go and dont have any good friends to lift you in you are unable to gain safe access in or out. 2 The disabled toilet was padlocked and no radar key. The toilet was damp, dirty, smelly and no hand towels. Also, a few glasses had smashed on the floor near our table. My friend pointed this out to the staff and she was presented with a brush, mop and toilet paper to clean it up!!! My friend was a customer not a member of staff . The Bowie has suffered over the past few years from unfriendly staff and poor service. It was fantastic to be greeted by a friendly face last week. The pub has great potential: a bit of TLC (especially the toilets), an eating area (doesn't have to be anything special), an area to watch football, somewhere for people to talk without unbearably loud music and a community feel would make this a really successful pub. The pub is big enough to accommodate everyone. Best wishes to the new manager!
The place could do with some t.l.c. and a good scrub the managers never seem to stay long enough to get to know and the floor is uneven, so take care if not steady on your feet, the toilets are smelly and the tables are dirty, knot sure if food is sold but it does give advertisements to say they do, all though I have not seen anyone eating here.
My first visit to the place and won’t be the last. Snooker, Pool Darts all available to play. The Football Boxing was shown on large widescreen tv’s. Atmosphere was brilliant and a mix of ages gave the place a good vibe. Quiz night was enjoyable and the place has great banter throughout and brilliant service.

Have only been for a drink with the boyf hence the 4 stars. I must say the staff are efficient the manger is also pleasant and polite serves when the bar is busy. Ñever had to wait more than a few minutes. Bar area is large and roomy. Definitely go for drinks again maybe food next time!
Very disappointing experience. Staff were unfriendly, did not smile, no 'thank you ' when taking my money. Toilets in very poor condition. Loud music when most people were there to talk. Big screen not working for the football. Over 20 mins serving time.
Went here for the first time in about ten years, oh dear. Obvious it hasn't had a lick of paint in this time, and the bogs were as bad as I remember. It could be a great pub but sadly the brewery company who own it are letting it go to pot.
Had a wonderful evening in here last weekend, staff were very friendly and accommodating. Beer was great and at a good price too! The live band were also amazing! Well done! Great pub great atmosphere

Certainly wouldn't eat from here, but ok for a beer or two once in a while. Needs modernising in a big way! Sadly just doesn't have the atmosphere some pubs have. Busy tho when the footy is on tv
Great wee bar. Staff worked hard. Very friendly. Was my first time at a match and felt at home in this bar. Thank you tracey x
