The Brasserie At The Langstone

Booked for The Ferris Wheel afternoon tea, but the day before they rang up to tell us it would be served the normal way because they where busy and didn’t have enough of the ferris wheels available, however, there where only about 4 other busy tables and only three of them had them served on one. The First Lady that served us was very pleasant and quickly got our drinks out to us and then we soon served our tea. The sandwiches where nothing special but fine but the scones where probably the worst I have ever had anywhere. I was incredibly let down by the food at this restaurant. I had such a great experience with the hotel that I wrote a glowing review, but the food was overpriced and not up to par. My husband ordered the cod and chips for a whopping 18.95, only to find out that the fish was not actually cod as advertised and the chips were cold. My gammon steak with egg and pineapple chutney was mediocre at best, earning a 6 out of 10 rating. I hope that breakfast will be better, and I urge the chef to accurately label the fish dishes on the menu.

A group of 5 of us had a cream tea to mark a 60th birthday. The setting was beautiful and tranquil. Our waitress, Julie, was attentive and obviously keen that we had a good time. Our food was beautifully presented, plentiful and delicious. We were not hurried and had plenty of time for a catchup. I heartily recommend this venue to anyone wanting views and good service alongside their food.

We had a pleasant dining experience with good but slow service. However, when it came to ordering coffee at the end of the meal, things became chaotic. It was quite busy, and while it was not the fault of the servers, it did detract from an otherwise enjoyable meal.

The Langstone is a fantastic hotel located on Hayling Island with stunning views overlooking the bay. We frequent stay here and always have a wonderful experience.
