Food was very nice and all clearly cooked from ingredients on the premises. Slightly disappointed that three items from the menu were not available as they had run out (this was at 7.00pm on Saturday evening, I would understand if this happened later on in the evening). We found that the raspberries for one of the deserts were also unavailable. Another niggle is that bitter shandy is charged at the same price as a full pint. When asked if this was correct the barmaid told us that this is because lemonade costs the same as bitter. (Not sure if that is strictly true). Having said that service overall was good and the food was very good and would recommend a visit.
The fixed price lunch menu had a good selection and the food was delicious. There is a good choice of beers. The service was excellent. The staff were just the right amount of attentive and friendly. We will certainly go again.
Visit number 2 and by far better than the 1st, our first encounter was of an evening and they didn't seem to cope well with being so busy 2nd visit was daytime bank holiday Monday, service was much better and food great
exceeded my expectations and as well as the food and service excellent the nice thing was the layout of the rooms to eat in because it wasn't one large room the noise level was fine which is a lot to be said these days

As regular Sunday walkers all over Beds, Bucks and Herts, we always prebook at local pub to finish up at. This was a very satisfactory standard of food and hospitality. Friendly staff and good service.
No record of our booking the dough sticks were unavailable due to a kitchen fire which my niece had been looking forward to since I told her we were going. Everything tasted of oil
