We’ve tried this pub a couple of times when under different management. Never felt really comfortable as it had “this is a pub for local people” vibes. But, today, we were made to feel right at home by every single member of staff we came into contact with. And the Sunday roast was exceptional! My husband had the lamb and I had the vegan roast both were great, as were the enormous portions of carrots, parsnips, leeks and cauliflower cheese that accompanied them. We finished off by sharing a delicious sticky toffee pudding and my husband thoroughly enjoyed his two beers too. Thanks all for a fantastic, great value for money lunch. We’ll definitely be back again soon.
this is a huge pub directly opposite the river and minutes from the barnes bridge station. it is usually quiet and cozy, except for days like the boots race, if it is really packed. we went here a weekday and it was nice, not too full, just perfect for a few drinks and an evening meal. the bullenkopf offers all pub favorites for eating and drinking. I had a huh kiew with brokkoli and it was delicious. we also had the celeriac and Chive soup with kitschiger toast, which was very comforting when it was a cold evening. in any case, they are planning more visits in this pub as they have a lot to offer in their menu next to the jazz nights.
The Bull is great for a night out and regular visits. I generally visit for the excellent Real Ale but on the occasions I have eaten there the food was excellent. The staff also help to create the ambiance. Lovely to have a traditional pub with proper beer and good reasonably priced food, too many have gone foodie and bistroey.
Lovely visit to the Bulls Head at Barston yesterday. We went as a group with children and were given a very warm welcome and settled in the restaurant area. Staff were absolutely fantastic being very kind to the children and made us feel at home. Lovely food and a great atmosphere. Will look forward to our next visit!

Booked a table for 7+Polly (dog) no problem Children and dogs actively welcomed. Given a table in the snug very nice room. Great service brilliant food and great value, Plenty people in but no delays with service. Good location in a lovely village not far from midlands motorways. will definitely return
The atmosphere at this restaurant is fantastic. There is a wide variety of options on the menu, and the food is decent. However, my partner was a bit disappointed with the portion size of his meal. In particular, the pie he ordered was underwhelming, with mostly vegetables and very little meat.
This pub is fantastic, offering a wide variety of food options. We sampled some of the small plates, which were delicious and served in a tapas style. The ales were well maintained and added to the overall experience. I highly recommend this place for both families and groups of friends.
Enjoyed an excellent meal here tonight, the salmon was delicious and I managed to squeeze in a beautifully presented cheesecake dessert. Friendly service and good value for money at this lovely country village pub.

Just had a most spectacular meal, great welcome from all staff, very dog friendly, very delicious food, gammon, lamb curry, tapas, salmon , all excellent and very well prepared and presented.
The service was excellent and the food was delicious. The staff were very helpful and attentive. The atmosphere was great and very relaxing, making it a perfect break after a long walk.
