A lovely village pub with great food and plenty of outdoor space to enjoy food and drinks in the summer. In the winter, the cosy and historic interior is just as welcoming and there's a fireplace to enjoy. We visited for Sunday lunch and as well as the traditional offerings there were well crafted more modern options. They had small versions of roast dinners available for the children as well as fish/sausage/scampi and chips. We sat in one of the pods outside, as we had the dog and it was a sunny day. The service was quick, the food was delicious and all at a reasonable price. The restaurant is great for drinks, but our experience with Sunday lunch was terrible. The soup was cold, the roast chicken was dry and tough, and the Yorkshire pudding was like soggy slop. Five others in my group also found the food to be poor and disappointing. It's a shame because the atmosphere was really good, but I don't think we'll be returning. The price per person is £20-30. Food quality was rated 1 out of 5, service was 3 out of 5, and atmosphere was 4 out of 5.
