The Margherita pizza didn't look very impressive—almost a bit sad. There was hardly any basil, just a few scattered shavings. Even after reheating, the mozzarella slices weren’t stringy when bitten into, which made me think it wasn’t fresh mozzarella. The crust was thinner than the mushroom pizza but lacked crunch—just an average crust. The flavor was nothing special; it was merely okay.
The mushroom truffle pizza, on the other hand, had ample cheese and a noticeably better taste. The fresh mushrooms were evenly distributed, and each slice had a nice portion. However, I couldn't taste any truffle. For $15, I wasn't expecting real shaved truffles, but I did expect at least a hint of that ear...
My wife and I first heard about Wegmans about five years ago. I was told by a co-worker that it was similar to other gourmet grocery chains such as Whole Foods or Trader Joe's, but better than all of them. Curious, we decided to take a drive out to the closest one to us in Montvale, New Jersey. This location opened in September 2017 and is 108,000 square feet. We were floored! It had to have been the nicest grocery store we have ever seen. Prepare to spend a good amount of time shopping in Wegmans because you'll find things there that you just won't find in other supermarkets. One of the things that they're known for is their bakery department and with good reason; they bake the majority of the items on premises. You can't go wrong with any of their bread. They have a large prepared meal section too so it's great for those nights when you either don't have time or don't want to cook a meal. The chicken pot pie is delicious; I usually purchase a few and put them in the freezer for when I'm looking for some good comfort food. Wegmans hosts fond memories of my younger days, but it's currently dismal due to the shortage of staff and supply chain issues. There's a decent selection of produce, meats, seafood/fish and frozen. The bread and butter (or at least IMO) was the to go section, bakery and hot foods. The selection has slimmed down significantly, but there's still a decent amount available. The latter has fresh items daily so you can appease picky eaters. The downside to good ole Weggie's is the prices- they're steep for most items, especially the fresh ones. I went to Wegmans of Montvale, NJ on 12/31/21 to pick up my previously ordered lobsters and shrimp and I found that the lobsters were ready but the shrimp was not available. I was directed to a table where shrimp trays were available but in much larger quantities that I needed for a party of 2. I asked a that person behind the seafood counter if I could get some help for a 1 lb tray of steamed shrimp and was advised that it was either the larger prepared trays or nothing. This is the second time (but will be the last time) I was disappointed by Wegmans seafood department for a New Years Eve. Stop trying to take advantage of your customers just because it is a special night or your customers...
HELLO! I'm a representative from the OSHA board and I come into various stores and supermarkets scouting out the Pros and the Cons. I've seen This guy at the little falls shop rite and now he's at wegmans. he's best known for being rated #1 for top customer service in New Jersey. He never fails to find an item for you and help you save money on a product. If I could give him a raise I would and wegmans should indeed for the amount he's worth. I never see any other employees on the sales floor but Vincenzo. No offense to the other workers but they need to step up to the plate like Vincenzo has done. During this visit, I enjoyed lunch at the market café, which resembles a world-class food court, comparable to those found in high-end malls in Singapore. Personally, I love their sushi and poke offerings the most. Unlike the sushi from Whole Foods or Trader Joe’s, which tends to have firmer rice, Wegmans uses freshly made, soft sushi rice. I tried the Salmon Volcano roll, and it was delicious—almost on par with what you’d find at a Japanese restaurant, but at half the price.
It’s hard to capture everything in a review; you really need to visit and experience it for yourself!
I just started a plant-based diet, I went to Wegman’s because they see so many great selections in their Salad Bar pictures I saw the Burger Bar and saw them now sell The Impossible Burger, which is plant-based, I thought I would give it a try, I thought they had only one choice The Mediterranean, but you can do it like any other of the Burgers on the menu, you also have one choice

This is my go-to grocery store since moving to New Jersey. I love to cook, and I am always pleasantly surprised at how well-stocked they are! They have practically every ingredient under the sun. They also have a burger cafe inside, and they have a wine store attached which is super convenient. The staff is also always friendly. Love it!
