The Burger Shop and The Ice Cream Shoppe

Atmosphere is very much old school dinner/milkshake bar. I have an allergy to certain lettuces and was assured that the Lettuce on my canadian burger was regular Lettuce (iceberg/romaine) but when it came out there was arugula on it...the very one I am allergic to. I was able to pull it off and did enjoy the rest of the burger and fries. I was a little disappointed in not having the Lettuce and probably would have gone for a different burger had I known what type of Lettuce was available. My partner enjoyed their burger and fries, no issues there. All in all I do enjoy the burger shop and the ice cream is to die for.Parking: Roughly 20 spots and a hotel across the road with many other spaces

Prices were different from menu. Two kids sliders 1adult veggi burger and 1 regular burger and fries with 4 pops was over 90 bucks. Place is a joke. I have to say our waitress was good. No fries, the person didn't blanch any so they charged us 5$ for each substitute. Waitress charged the kids for the fries sub even when the portion was half the size of my wife's waitress actually thought it was okay. Also didn't have a spoon for my kids ice cream so they gave one that was used before by someone else. Will never go there again.

Conflicting experience. Ordered from the Quality Inn across the road, was told it would be 10 20 minutes.Ordered the cheeseburger poutine, which was great. Ordered the foot long hotdog (fyi literally 12 inches, it’s huge) but it ended up being cold like not even lukewarm which was concerning. Plain fries were mediocre, not quite undercooked, but bland/pale (fine when they’re the base for a poutine though). Debated going back for a refund, considering the price, but had other plans.Maybe stick to their burgers and poutines?

This is the BEST burger spot within a 100km radius.The burgers are so juicy and fully loaded but not so much that half your meal is splayed across your table after 3 bites. And you don't feel horribly full after either. Juicy but not greasy. Big but not unforgiving. Fresh but not skimpy.Just right.They really engineered the perfect burger and the seasonal features are AMAZING.Can't recommend this spot enough. I have been there several times in years past. This was by far the worst. The waitress was rude, the table was dirty and old fries ON it. She took our order, told us they had NO utensils except plastic ! Once she brought our food, she Sat with a co worker and Did NOT return. I took all our leftovers up to the counter for box's. The price was crazy for the service we received. I did not think a tip was deserving but I left one. I will never go back.

The menu is dated and confusing, and $22 for a cheeseburger?! Especially with not a single thing has been done to maintain or improve the interior of the place for decades (it’s a beautiful old building to disrespect it like that is insane). People pay partially for a fun experience, and this place is probably less fun than service Ontario.. come on. They have ice cream. The staff were friendly and polite though!!

On Labour Day evening it was really busy, hot and humid. I just need to say that the young girl that was on by herself handled everything amazingly. She was waiting tables, handling take outs and serving ice creams. She was calm, happy and not once gave you the feeling that she couldn't cope. Well done!!

Stopped here yesterday for two ice cream cones. The nice young woman who waited on us served up the puniest ice cream cones I’ve ever had. Very chintzy. And the ice cream they serve is no Kawartha Dairy. It was literally crispy and granular. Awful. So thanks but … no thanks. Reserva una mesa ahora

The food here was jot good. The footlong was water logged and not grilled at all. The burgers have so much pepper, we had a hard time finishing, The milkshakes were the best par to the meal. We will not be back.

Asked the boy at the counter, how big is the patty, he said it's 8-10 oz. It was more like 6oz skinny patty. The bun quality was solid 9.
